Indian Premier League - General Discussion

The reason why RCB hasn't won a trophy yet is pretty clear by their decision making and their selections. I think Kohli has had a big influence in these decisions, RCB's issues strike a semblance to the selections he made on the 2018 SA tour and on other occasions. Releasing QDK after one season was incredibly stupid, they now lack an experienced wicket-keeper batsman at the top. They played Hetmyer for a while, and he did deliver on a few occasions he was quickly discarded. Now RCB has a middle order void which can't be said to be filled, depends on whether Maxi wants to be on his million dollar vacation or actually play to his potential. As long as Kohli is at the helm RCB will never win a trophy. But he will go nowhere, that means there's no point being an RCB fan. You RCB fans are better off supporting another side, I'd highly recommend becoming apart of the very small SRH fanbase we got here on this site :p.
True, but dil hai ki manta nahi hai
(But my heart doesn't agree)

There is a very specific emotion involved with supporting a doomed team like RCB, which is very romantical. The glimmer of false hope and delusion, the definite bursting of the bubble and the eventual self pity - this cycle is beautiful in its own way.

In some ways its similar to being a South African fan and the wonderful agony one goes through during ICC events. Granted, the reasons for SA and RCB failure are very different - but the rollercoaster of emotions is quite the same. Not something to be traded-in for :noway

I'd be an SRH fan but there's not enough love for Jonny Bairstow. So, I'm just going to hope that one day Pune Warriors India return.

If RCB did not release Rahul, Stoinis, Morris and Dube, this would be their team for IPL 2020 & 2021.

Rahul
Padikkal
Virat
ABD
Stoinis
Sundar
Dube
Morris
Richardson
Saini
Chahal

They would have easily won the trophy with this team but they are very kind-hearted. They do not play for themselves. They release their good players to help other teams. But unfortunately, people don't understand them. :(

Selfless Franchise!

Still weak in bowling. Not a tournament winning 11

Pune Warriors India
That is the worst side of all-time in the IPL history. Strange that it had the likes of Steve Smith, Graeme Smith, Aaron Finch & Marlon Samuels and yet it failed to deliver. Robin Uthappa was their best player by a fair margin. Even Yuvraj did not have a great time with that franchise.

Kumble, Chahal & Kallis apart their bowling line-up has been a joke over the years. Even Zaheer Khan and Steyn were terrible bowlers for T20s as long as they played for RCB.

Exactly. I don't want to support a team that wins, I want to support one that gets laughably worse as the tournament progresses.

The Dream team that got wrecked by Chris Gayle. :clap

RV Uthappa (wk)
AJ Finch (c)
Yuvraj Singh
SPD Smith
LJ Wright
MR Marsh
M Manhas
B Kumar
IC Pandey
AG Murtaza
AB Dinda

Although the 2012 Ganguly swansong was the best, if only for players past their prime living on past glories.
