Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Tbh Kedar's contribution isn't worthy enough of a T20 player in the last 2-3 seasons. We often seem to over rate the six that he hit to Mustafizur Rahman in the last over after being injured and coming out to bat in the last over.

Kedar's issue is strike rotation. The fact is the kind of batsman he is, he doesn't get to rotate the strike. And in recent years he is tied down very easily with the lack of boundaries. He has had back to back seasons where he failed to even strike at a 100. There is a reason why a team like CSK would leave out a massively experienced player like Jadhav.

He is rather just a waste of a spot just like how Yuvraj Singh was in 2018 & 2019 season for KXIP & MI respectively. In my opinion SRH bought him on the basis of his reputation and his past performance in his prime.

He has the one thing that is clearly missing in the current SRH batting line up- experience!

I think Finn Allen would have been better option if they were looking for Batsman, handover keeping to him and Ab back in field.

I don't think he's that bad a player. Yes, he struggled big time last year but a change of franchise can bring some change in form for the player. And adding onto that, Jadhav had a decent SMAT as well and the one thing SRH is missing in their middle order is experience. There's a wealth of rookies in the SRH squad who haven't completely adapted to the IPL scene in constructing a decent contribution to that middle order. Pandey and Shankar, supposedly the senior players have been poor or rather haven't fulfilled their potential with the bat. CSK let him go because he was poor for them, and there were far better alternatives than him, namely Moeen Ali who is a far better fielder, bowler and batsman. CSK's squad is mostly made up of veterans who have been there for like a millenia and several others who have been there for around three years so it wouldn't hurt them to unload some experienced player.

He was in quarantine. It's not a good thing to have him play as soon as he enters the team bio bubble.

We had 8 bowling options and used only 6/7 each match. Dan Christian hasn't been that good with both bat & ball. I'll have Daniel Sams come in for Christian. He is a good striker of the ball and can also bowl in the death. But same reason as Allen. He must wait for a few days.

Good move of bringing in Rajat again. He has a lot of talent. Maybe he's a bit nervous as it's his first big tournament. Since KKR has 3 spinners, an extra batsman in Rajat - is a good player of spin. Hope he does well today.

For the first time after many years, I feel we have a good squad with a lot of options.

I feel last year's squad was better for RCB. Really think they missed a boat with not making the finals last season.

I think Daniel Sams would have been useful on this slowish Chennai wicket with his slower balls and cutters, and I bet that he would've done no better than Christian with the bat there at 6. RCB's batting dips after #5. If KKR snag Maxwell and AB in quick time this could be a walkover for them.

We are used to Mr.360's knocks. But now we have Big Show too. From 9-2 in the 2nd over to 204-4. What a comeback!

Looking at how pitch turned out in second half of RCB's innings, I guess the target is chaseable. Hope our bowlers defend this total. If the slowness of the pitch got overshadowed by AB & Maxi's awesome innings, then it will be the inflate-deflate strategy of Mr.Nags :D Will have to wait and see how the chase will be.

I agree that he has experience that SRH seriously lacks. I do not think Kedar Jadhav was a bad player by any means. I've seen him tear apart attacks for years in Ranji Trophy & Vijay Hazare Trophy. Also, in IPL he was one of the most important player for a non-performing Delhi Daredevils team. He was surely one of the best domestic white ball talent in the country who should've played for India a lot of years before he actually got an opportunity to do so. Also in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy he played all the matches at no.3 in which he scored 7(6), 84(45*), 61(47), 25(25) & 16(21). That 84 & 61 actually came against weaker side in high scoring games while in remaining matches the strike-rate issue is still very much visible. He could still be tried as a short term no.3 but in the long-run he can't be sustained. To me he doesn't inspire the kind of confidence that he did in his early days. But anyways just my personal opinion so you guys can chose to disagree to it. :thumbs

To all the trolls who made fun of Siraj in the past for leaking runs in death, thank you.

That bloke has taken things too personally. Improved himself and there he is, bowling to Dre Russ in most crucial time and conceded only 1 run.

For the first time (as far as I remember :p), Both Purple Cap & Orange Cap holders are from RCB. Still long way to go, but these little moments are good to remember. :)
