Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Likewise, KKR seem lost. They certainly dont have any big names to go by. Rana looks lost most of the times and they seem afraid of taking harsh decisions. Russell and Narine have had a fine run, but they have hardly contributed to the team's cause. Batting Roy at whatever position too, doesnt make sense. Bits and pieces players like Rana, Rinku and Venky aren't going to get the team anywhere. On paper, they look the weakest of all 10!

Btw, Shakib has asked that he be released from KKR with immediate effect. This too, will dent them.

You mean the bits and pieces players who gave them winning positions in previous games? :rolleyes

Context is key. Roy hurt himself in the outfield and couldn't come out to open, so Narine is opening instead. Although, if Roy couldn't bat I'd have thought they'd sub him off.
KKR never shown intent to chase that massive target until Roy comes to bat... Yes offcourse when KKR chase the score against GT, Rana and Iyer build partnership very well but this time they left too much to the end... Comes to Roy injury, i never felt he is injured when he comes to bat...

That's probably why he didn't open. He might've been too sore to come in straightaway. That's why they held him back until he'd recovered a bit

Roy opening wouldn’t have made a difference anyway, the score was well above par and everyone knew it. When you have Dube confidently saying that their score is more than enough you know the opponent’s bowlers have failed.

RCB's Impact Player strategy allows du Plessis and Harshal to flourish

This is the sort of stupidity that Indian players need to avoid. If Patel is injured, he ought to rest and try to be fully fit in an attempt towards making the Indian XI.

This is exactly where a person like VVS needs to put his foot down and stop Patel. Anyway, I guess we are expecting too much of VVS.

We know it bro.... :noway:( CSK fans are into this season fully expecting Dhoni to call it a day after this season. He has been dropping ton of hints throughout all games. Conway is practicing keeping during CSK nets, Dhoni says "maybe the Eden crowd has come to give me a farewell..." etc.

Strong hope that if he calls it a day, he will stay on within CSK management and mentor the team alongwith Fleming. We do now have a pool of captaincy candidates now, with Ajinkya Rahane suddenly becoming a very promising prospect along with Ruturaj Gaikwad of course. If we need a foreigner, there is Moeen Ali or even Devon Conway.

Brook looked very clueless in that short innings of his. Not what you’d want from your star signing.

Not playing Phillips is becoming more and more questionable.

He returns.... bah gawd he is back...that carnage!!
