Respectfully releasing the players with reasons for RCB : Andy Flower and Mo Bobat

Hardik stays with Gujarat! And Cricinfo says there’s still a chance of the trade to happen? How horrible is this? Hardik and the franchise are ruining his relationship with Gujarat fans. Fan loyalty in this league is very important.

Might as well pack your bags and leave!

So in the end whats the status? Did Pandya go or not?

Green heading to RCB apparently. Where did that come from?

Didn’t need to. MI would have gotten the amount by releasing him. RCB could have bought him at much cheaper. Looks like wheeling and dealing

It’s the least Mumbai could do after RCB handed them Quinny on a platter years ago.

If Green’s on the same contract I doubt he’s even worth it, they already have a massive earner in Kohli.

The more I think about it the more it feels braindead for a move. He’ll be earning as much as Hazlewood and Hasaranga combined who they released, they’ve got a settled top four already unless they demote Maxi to five.

I think MI didn't know whether Hardik's deal is gonna go through till the retentions met its deadline and hence they had to retain Green as a back up in case Hardik deal doesn't happen,

But once Hardik deal went through, they needed to let go Green otherwise their budget would be tight, so they let off Green to RCB.

Only question being that why did RCB agree to do that?

Cricbuzz reports that the trade of "Hardik to MI" has been successfully completed, and that it was done after the initial announcement of the players being retained by their original franchises.

Green traded to RCB is a good one for RCB. Green and Maxwell at Chinnaswamy (along with Faf and Kohli) makes their batting all the more stronger. But RCB fortunes will depend heavily on how their bowling can defend at that tiny box of a ground! :D

RCB went from having 40cr to somewhat around 27cr with the Green trade. Meaning they won't have enough to buy a good bowling attack because the other franchises are going to screw RCB by bumping up the price for the players that they want leading them to overpay.
