Indian Premier League - General Discussion

I think he amount of criticism that Shankar gets at times is unnecessary. It wasn't his fault that the selectors chose him over Rayudu. Also he is a good player. He is just a little low on confidence.

I have not seen him play one good innings. Is he always low on confidence? Perhaps he should get a confidence booster shot :noway . We have shit loads of talent in our country and we always tend to pick the mediocre ones. I am pretty sure he is not going to be near the Indian side. Atleast not in the way he currently performs.

He is an example of a proper bits & pieces cricketer :p .

Sanju Manju says hi.

I feel instead of dropping Pandey who has atleast scored runs, they should have dropped Vijay Shankar who is at best yet another mediocre player who made his way to the Indian side.
Only thing that's saved Shankar is his bowling. And he's been a pretty good sixth bowler for SRH for the past two seasons. And he is better off playing in the top 4, while he hasn't scored any runs down the order either, and dropping Pandey frees up that slot.

Pandey has scored runs but all his innings have been at a low strike rate and all of those knocks killed the game for SRH. First game, he struggled and couldn't finish the job off against KKR despite being set, a painful 38 off 39 balls against RCB when SRH were well on top and a 2(8) against MI. Even you used to say, Pandey will play that one amazing innings per season as he did for KKR but he's not really the real deal at the moment. Perhaps a break for a few games before SRH play in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore will see him come to form on those flatish wickets.

Punjab are sorely missing Ravi Bishnoi. Poor XI for this pitch for Punjab, they stocked up on their batsmen but they're forced to use part timers on a spinning track when one more specalist spinner would've put heaps more pressure on SRH.

Rutu's on fire! :cheers

Feels good to see Ruturaj performing after I backed him to do so. Dhoni's trust on him have also paid off.

MURDER!!! 220... Even with dew, CSK should back themselves to defend this. The slower balls and the change of pace is still working to keep the batsmen quiet. If dew doesn't come down much, KKR risk themselves getting toasted and give CSK an even bigger NRR boost than what they already have.

Surprising calls today to see Dhoni and Jadeja out, but it again worked for CSK!! Fingers crossed, things seem to be falling in place for CSK. Just need this to be maintained (touch wood)

Humble pie on the Ruturaj backing... Happy happy to be proven wrong. I still feel a 4th game after 3 failures is a luxury, but well CSK are legends for doing this time after time!!

KKR and the seasons of if and but continues. All the teams from all the sports I follow keeps giving me hopes season after season since they have so much talent but keep disappointing. This includes the Indian cricket team as well.

Dhoni scored his first boundary off Narine in IPL history!! That shot for six off Prasidh flooded back memories of a decade... Though he got out, he did play with intent and frankly it did not matter than Curran didn't come out.

Being result oriented.
