Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Need Stoinis quickly, he can and will take away the game fast!

There is a pattern to MI's building of their squad over the years.

They will buy a lot of uncapped scouted Indian players and surround themselves with big marquee player in the auctions.

Back in 2014 they bought in a lot of young players in that season alongside Corey Anderson finished in the playoffs after failing to win any game in first 5 matches.

Next season they bought a certain Hardik Pandya, Nitish Rana etc. and fill the remaining gaps with the likes of Lindl Simmons who was handy for them.

Similar thing happened in 2018, bought the likes SKY,Ishan in the auctions failed to qualify for playoffs that season went onto fill the gaps next season by adding De Kock and Boult in the squad.

And once again in the last 2 years, the squad is filled with lot of young players and good experience international players.

Just need some good pacers too strengthen the bowling.
Tilak Varma, Nehal Wadhera and Akash Madhwal this time around.

They dont stop, do they? What a terrific win for Mumbai! Unearthed a new star in Akash Madhwal! The moment they got to 180, you knew that LSG had no chance at this. They also beautifully brought in Wadhera for SKY in the first innings and risked not getting in a 3rd spinner. Well they didnt need it at all!

LSG overachieved to be in the playoffs (felt RR would've been a better fit to take on MI here in Chennai). Must be a great Qualifier 2. I can see the El Classico IPL final loading (CSK vs MI).

Krunal Pandya trying to be like his brother. I am so glad they were knocked out. Its something about the players they have that make me hate them… KL first and currently Krunal.

Mumbai has become a lot more likeable recently. Quality and team building wise, they are head and shoulders above everyone, including CSK. They build a gun side with youngsters and experience in a proper mix. That's why I didn't agree with Hardik Pandya when he recently said "MI selects best players while CSK select ordinary/inexperienced players and get the best out of them". He was talking like a proper 'Thalason'. Credit where due, MI are a top notch franchise. Now all those compliments out of the way -

Supporting Gujarat Titans all the way, for Qualifier 2. Yes, Gujarat is a better all round side than CSK, but Mumbai is a different beast altogether in playoffs and final. If there is a team that I would not mind CSK losing the final to, it would be Gujarat. And Hardik is a proper 'Thalason' :lol:D Even the likes of Rashid, Mohit, etc.
