What will the result of the Test series be?

Just as I predicted India would fail when they play outside of the sub-continent, I'm predicting 2-0 to SA.
Unless you predicted India would fail one out of the 12 innings that could potentially be played in this Test series, none of your predictions have been confirmed.

Or your prediction could have been that India would fail at least once, in which case I'll go ahead and predict that when I click the "submit reply" button this message will be posted.

Well, at least according to him, India is good enough to draw one game:cheers

I can see how India's lacklustre performance on the 1st day of a very important test series can invoke such sentiments amongst cricket fans to quickly pounce on the bandwagon and discredit their rise as a top class team.
India has only been at the reign of No.1 test nation from 2009, and that came because of their consistent performances. Aus enjoyed a decade long undisputed reign at No.1 despite having beaten subcontinental teams only twice in their own backyards (dicounting Ban). There was a reason why Steve Waugh described 01/02 series in India as the "Final Frontier", which they eventually lost, not that they had managed to beat SL or Pak in their own backyards yet.
Beating SA and Aus in their own backyard is next on the checklist for India as they slowly but gradually have been ticking off all the others.

I know but people are acting like SAF have already won the match. Don't forget if we get them out cheaply, then they have to bat last on this pitch.

Frankly speaking the so called "real" pitches are spiced up 2x times to negate Indian team strength (batting) and the only reason teams get away is because of our less than world class bowling attack. Which is a fact that is universally accepted be it Indian fan or not.

Would have loved to see how the "deservedly No. 1" Eng would have coped with batting on greener bouncier pitches infact more so how "deservedly No 1" SA would have dared to prepare such pitches considering Eng bowling attack!!

England and world class bowling attack? When did that happen? They are good enough to exploit juicy conditions, thats all. They are nowhere close to Steyn or Morkel (they are better than India if Ishant and Sreesanth are not in good nick).

In fact this is not a surprise at all that we had such a terrible batting day for India today considering they are facing what is currently the most feared opening bowling pair in world cricket. Place any team in India's shoes and they might have performed similarly to what India have so far. Wonder what would have happened had Dhoni won the toss and opted to bowl? SA already have world class bowlers. As an icing on the cake, they got the best of bowling conditions also today.

What time did it start any ways?

No sympathy for India. We all knew this was coming, even India knew this was coming. That' what you get for playing on flat pitches all year long

I am just upset that I won't able to watch these matches. They starts at 1:30 flipping AM.

My post above was to further bring into light how people easily discount the wins that India manages on "Unreal :lol" pitches. Where Ind batsmen outshine the best other team has to offer, and the same B-grade bowling attack manages to get 20 wickets while the world class attacks fail :lol:lol

That's what they get for not scheduling warm up matches and relying on Twenty20 conditions experience in a Test match. They way they treat Test cricket is a disgrace.

The BCCi with all its lobbying might could easily have asked for warm ups in lieu of the Twenty20s or ODIS but they are money hungry pigs who only care about deepening their own pockets. I bet if they could have they wouldn't even have played the Tests so they could preserve the ranking and then play 10 ODIS which no one gives a ████ about except the advertisers.

I told you so. India will get annihilated in this test, destroy South Africa in the second one and then lose (but not too badly) in the last one.

:lol :lol Only reason the Indian bowlers :lol pick up wickets is because they bores the :lol batsmen to death. Not because they :lol are actually bowling good. :lol Eg the SA choke in India last time.

There is nothing wrong with making flat pitches. That's why they call it home advantage. But that's just boring cricket.

McLOVIN added 1 Minutes and 52 Seconds later...

Flat tracks are boring yes, but not the spinning ones. Too bad when our curators were preparing spinning tracks arguably best in the world (Ricky Ponting) were averaging less than 20!

Dude WTF does Ricky Ponting have to do with this thread? Just give up and wait till our bowlers bowl on this pitch. If you wanna have a go at someone, at least say something rational. It looks like out of frustration, you hate every snide remarks about our team. It happens. Learn to get over it.
