Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

I don't care if India lose this match, like a farewell throwup for Murali.

We are not here for charity. Who cares if Murali is retiring. I am more interested in our bowlers getting some confidence before the next two games. I still hope our boys play to save/win the test. I dont want Sehwag to get out to Murali (like someone said Sehwag to get a hundred and let him get out to Murali; NO WAY!)

Sehwag to bat till India gets 320. :yes

Mithun has dodgy action as well.

Actually a lot of people care that Muralitharan is retiring. It was great the scenes around the time he went to bat and then to field.

The Sri Lanka people might have wanted to invest in some nicer fireworks. All you could see was like big crackers, no fireworks with colours and stuff like that.

Impressive stuff from Mithun. He seems like the typical workhorse bowler, and he really got something out of that first day wicket in his first spell, unlike Ishant, which was very impressive. But, terrific bowling from Ishant today morning. Just watched the highlights a while back, and some splendid stuff from the seamers. Though, the Malinga-Herath partnership shouldn't have happened, but India have always(well, a lot of the time) been unable to bowl out the tail. No matter which bowlers were playing.

Spinners were extremely disappointing though. Murali Kartik anyone? SehWAG will hopefully ton up and bat for a long time tomorrow.

Ojha was the most disappointing of the bowlers,he didnt even contain the batsmen.Mishra should be back for the next match.

20th ton for Sehwag, building a formidable record this lad, sure loves these flat SL pitches. Remind me what the point of test cricket is at this ground???

Why in God's name would you chase a ball that wide!? Focus should be on avoiding the follow on at this point. Could have avoided that.

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. How can you be troubled by short pitched bowling on this dead pitch?

Interesting to see India's age old weakness againts short pitches bowling being exposed here on a slowish pitch. Would expect this more so on pacy decks on AUS, SA, ENG.

Good signs for the AUS pace attack coming up.

:laugh its not often that I want to see Indian fast bowlers but I can't wait for this innings to end to see if Sharma and the new guy continue their attacking style.

Broken record I know but the new ball spell against Mahela was soooooo juicy to watch, the seam movement Sharma got was delicious

Good so far from Yuvraj and Dhoni to keep the SL attack at bay. Sehwag messed it up after batting so well for that ton. All our seniors always have this 'starting trouble'. But I feel Laxman struggles a little more often these days.

Cant see us batting out the day. If I were Sangakkara, I would follow-on even if India were 1 run away from saving follow-on. No point in trying to be safe. If he wants results, he got to be brave. I dont see this Indian lineup winning again after following-on.

Still see lot of positives for India from this test. The comeback of Yuvraj Singh (100 in the tour game, now a half century in the real test), the spell of Ishant Sharma yesterday that should give him so much confidence, the impressive debut display of Abhimanyu Mithun (4 wkts) and the continued dominance of Virender Sehwag. Hope we can sneak up a few more positives before the match ends. I want to see Ishant and Mithun bowl again (like what Mark said).
