This has been a bowling team tournament so far with no team completing up 50 overs and all the matches won by bonus points except for one, that was too left by just 5 balls.

How many times you see this type of tournaments?

Remind me of Indias tour of NZ in 2003. There also Sehwag was scoring 100 and other were out in 20. :laugh

That's a fantastic bowling display by Indian team, just loved it.

But Mills made us mad, and this is anothere example of our problems in getting talienders out.

Great win for India today. Luckily, Sehwag struck for us today and it made the difference big time. Good support from Dhoni too. 220+ is always a very tough total to chase in Dambulla. But our bowling has been far better than expected in this series. Praveen Kumar has swung the ball really well, Nehra has been decent and Munaf after a poor start, came into his own and got 3 wkts in the end. Ishant has been OK too (not too bad). Its our spinners that need work. WHEN WILL DHONI LOSE HOPE ON JADEJA?

Anyhow, we got to the final and we have a chance to continue our 100% tournaments win record in SL under Dhoni's captaincy. COME ON INDIA!!

if sehwag is still in touch by the time the world cup rolls around india have a real chance, he'll also probably destroy the record for most runs. especially since he'll get to bat against the associate nations more in this one. if india bat first against some of those guys you can see sehwag getting his 100s off of the first 20 overs.

Just saw that India thrashed New Zealand. India probably would have lost if it wasn't for Sehwag's 110 I'd say. Come to think of it, New Zealand cleared Sehwag's score by only 8 runs :laugh

Now I'll have to make myself watch yet another SL vs IND match

Damn. Well NZ lost that pretty badly. India were rubbish when they batted but NZ was even worse. If it wasn't for Mill's 50 we would have thrashed even more.

Missed the match but what is the general feeling in the kiwi ranks about Kane? Not exactly a dream debut series.

I am mighty dissapointed in Munaf's return. Big step backwards for team India. I know he did alright but when the pressure is on this guy is useless. Actually he's useless about 99% of the time. His fielding is atrocious and he can't bat for his life. Now with this 3fer he will be in the thick of things for a while.

Good on India for dropping Nohit. Jadeja should be next. Even when India had them for 60-9 or something and Jadeja was the first to get smacked for 6s. He even had the perfect situation to play himself in and get a good 30 or 40 odd today. He's been known to be an accumulator of runs and had a sold 15 overs to do just that. But nooo.

The selectors should be nuts if they dont drop Jadeja for the next ODI series. Even though Irfan hasnt done anything great in domestic games, not a bad option to give him another shot. I depend on him more than Jadeja. Irfan's batting never went down. It was only his bowling, but now with our bowlers leaking runs big, Irfan's bowling also wont be as bad it was made out to be before. Once Sachin and Gambhir come back, Rohit Sharma and KKD should get the sack. Why are they having Ashwin when they are not trying him out? Dhoni should provide a reason to the selectors for ignoring Ashwin and persisting with Jadeja inspite of bad performances from Jadeja (Ashwin did well in the only game he played, took 2 wkts or so).

Praveen's form is heartening, and Nehra has been OK. Once Zaheer comes back, either of Munaf or Ishant will make way (hope its Munaf). This series might have given our bowlers some good respite, since they have played in better bowling conditions here at Dambulla.

The pitches there are unacceptable (or maybe it's just the conditions, I still haven't figured it out). Sure, looks like a nice place. But consistent low scores every single game points to it not being the batsmen's fault. Having results hinge on the tosses so much isn't good for ODI cricket.

Sehwag carried India through and was the only difference between the two sides. India woulda made low 100's again if Sehwag wasn't such a brilliant player. He deserved the hundred too after being cheated out of one earlier on by bad sportsmanship. Was a killer knock.

That was a disappointing match. I lost something like 20 million vCash on the series as well.

This is what it makes Sehwag so special. Averaging 80 in the series when others failed to average above 25.
