Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

For what it's worth, Vijay is probably the opener with the best technique though. I hope we haven't eliminated him as a limited overs option already...

TBH, I hope we have. He has a great front foot technique and he looks fantastic when he's in full flow but as soon as he's pushed back in his crease a little bit, he struggles. His immediate instinct when batting is always to push well forward, well before the ball is bowled. His footwork is not flexible enough to allow him to play on the back foot. He just doesn't have enough time.

Man, I really need to find a new avatar.

Is it Vijay?

Anyways I think India is taking way to long to bring in Pujara and Mukund.
Pujara for sure. He is two first class seasons into his career and has toured England and Australia. His stats are brilliant and India are wasting time with Sharma and Vijay.

Retirements are around the corner in the test side, I'm pretty sure they'll get their chances eventually, especially Pujara.

Watch out - Rohit Sharma might get his test debut before Pujara. Wont rule that out!:facepalm

Shud win this finals which makes 6 series win's in a row in SL....:happy

I don't think so. Pujara will get in before Sharma. Has a good record in the domestic arena also. And he is technically sound too- just like Dravid.

I would like that too. My tone of that message was sarcastic. I dont believe our selectors will take the right decisions

I believe, it would be no surprise if Sharma would debut before Pujara but meh........................

We don't need anybody till Dravid retires, and the top contenders would be

Badrinath
Rahane
Pujara

I would like to see Rahane at Int. Level, he's just too awesome or maybe I like a him a bit more.

I have a feeling that our top order will click tomorrow but bowlibg will fail still will win the tournament

Mukund > Dhawan. In my opinion.

Okay no idea about Mukund :p
Either way, my point being KKD is not opener! I have no idea why selectors are persisting with him as one. Get someone else to fill that role!
And if they do want him in the team, allow him to bat somewhere he is more comfortable.

So tomorrow will se the culmination of 2 years of nonstop India-SL cricket!!:banana2
I`ll be watching it just because of this fact. Its Ind-Aus, Ind-NZ, Ind-SA, WC 2011, Ind-Eng and Ind-Aus after this! Bring it on.

After this tour no chance of quickly mushed up series with them either.

Time to offer Prasad in temples. :p

Vijay would be a better option than KKD opening, though.

Time to give Nayar a go at number 7. Jadeja is crap. Nayar is a huge hitter and offers a MEDIUM PACE option, something that india has always wanted in an allrounder. We have enough spinning options in Sehwag, Tendulkar, Raina, and Yuvraj. Nayar has the ability to both hit out or build a calm innings. Plus his bowling has improved leaps and bounds - just watched him pick up a 5fer vs a strong Karnataka line up yesterday. Captained the mumbai side too.
