S.G : Welcome to the cricket cafe show thats exclusively meant for analaysis! We have here with us, Mr.Geoffrey Boycott to discuss the things that happened today! Welcome to the show Geoffrey.... So to start with, what do u think first of all about the way Indian batted?


G.B : Well, Sachin Tendulkar dominated through out! There is no doubts in that... But the thing that makes me to worry about is overall total inspite of brilliant 179*! If u subtract that 179, other players were able to make only 100+ thats not looking like a good sign! If Sachin wud have been dismissed early, who knows, Windies might have bounced back strongly!


S.G : But Tendulkar has played 140+ plus deliveries which is nearly half of the fifty overs! So there was less opportunity relatively to get the strike and score runs! Moreover Dravid,Yuvi n Dhoni all looked to take single and give strike to the man who was firing at that time!


G.B : Its not fair to dump all the burden on one man... Especially players like Dhoni & Yuvraj Singh, shd have never looked to give Sachin strike... Remeber this champion came as a opener... When you are going in the middle from the dressing room fresh, its not fair to ask the tired man to hit boundaries and accelerate! Infact the role shd have been the other way...Dhoni & Yuvraj firing n Tendulkar supporting them... But today, entire burden fell on Sachin's shoulders and infact he handled it in an excpetional way and matured way too... This is definitely one of the best knocks i have been enjoying from the commentary box


S.G : Now about the Windies bowlers, they looked dominating in first three games and where is that aggression gone?


G.B : I think first of all, Windies played like a practice match.. I believe that they didnt take this as a real one like previous three games!


S.G : Now about Indian bowling, after a very very long time there is something to be happy about the Indian bowling that all the five bowlers performed well... isnt it?


G.B : The two bowlers really impressed me... Munaf & Powar!


S.G : Munaf Patel bowled brilliantly and infact he is the main destroyer of Windies Top order!

This is how, the bowling map of Munaf looks like,

G.B : The line was very impressive... This reminds me of McGrath of old days... If Munaf can maintain this line in all the games, definitely he is going to be the tough bowler to face! Also, with that line he was providing the marginal movement which is quite tricky... Bravo was decieved by this edging to Dhoni! Overall what Sachin did in batting, Munaf did in bowling that brought togethr the Victory

S.G : Pathan,Sreesanth,Bhaji n Powar were all impressive!

G.B : I do want a mention a word about Powar..... Powar has the capacity to bowl well.. He has been doing great job in last few one days he played! But i dont find any reason for dropping him often... Even today, he was bowling in good line and didnt allow to batsmen to free their arms! Unlucky that Powar ended without a wicket and also very unlucky thar he has been dropped more frequently

S.G : That will lead to an long discussion Geoffrey, as we are running out of time for presentation ceremony, we will just come to the final words before showing the segments of the day!

Whats ur overall opinion about today's match, final say?

G.B : Indians were able to get some confidence that they can win which is very important against Aussies in next game! Sachin has been looking good through out the tournament so far! But the middle order has to be consistent for India if they really want to make big impact and not to depend on only one man! Remember its a 11 men game

S.G : I do agree that batsmen like Yuvraj,Dhoni,Ganguly, Kaif has to show some extra ordinary things in batting if India needs to be looked as a stronger side!

S.G : So now going for the three special segments of Cricket Cafe starting with StarSports Master Blaster of the Day!

Well, there is only one choice and Master blaster (Sachin) himself is today's star sports Mastr Balster with magnificent 179 not out!

G.B : As we have already discussed he has played an magnificent innings! Its not easy for an opener to stay through out the 50 overs! Well done Sachin :hpraise

S.G : Now moving on to the next segment, Its Safe Hands of the day,

There were many catches taken in a brilliant way today, but Dhoni's catch in Bravo's dismissal seems to be the best of catches taken and hence gets the Safe Hands of the Day award!

G.B: I was also amazed by that catch... Infact this is the first time i am seeing Dhoni flying like Gilchrist!

S.G : Now the final segment, Super moment of the day!

Well its tough choice to make.... Sachin with the way he started sominating the bowlers... but inspite of Sachin's excellent effort, the target looked achievable... and infact the situation might have looked if Lara had been on the crease... Munaf Patel Dismissing Lara is the super moment of the day and also he was very unlucky to get out in that way!

G.B : Poor Lara... but these things are quite common in cricket!

R.S : Welcome to the presentation ceremony of the fifth match in this DLF cup and again today, the game went in one sided way in favour of Indians right from th start! It was a tough game for Windies & a great entertainment was also provided through out to the spectators! So a good cricket over all today.....

R.S : To start with, i like to call the Windies skipper Lara first to have some words with us please!

R.S : Well Brian tough luck today! What do u think that it went wrong today?

Well, Indians played an excellent cricket today with the ball but the game was stolen from us by Sachin Tendulkar Our boys were finding it difficult to pitch the ball in right areas! I think the way Sachin batted i really doubt that any bowler wudnt have found the solution for those Well, we are hoping to do well in finals!

R.S : Also it looked that batsmen including u wernt prepared to stay for long time?

No its not like that... As i said, they bowled well... Also some unfortunates were there! Also, the batting order was slightly shuffled that made bit difficult for the batsmen to adjust accrdingly!

R.S : Will the today lineup will be maintained for final or any changes?

It depends on the conitions and other factors!

Sachin played exceptionally well... Also others got good starts trying to support Sachin and it worked out well too! The ball had pace n bounce but the main thing was, it came to bat well! We were happy with the performance today

R.S : After a long time, all the five bowlers worked well for u... what do u feel about it?

In bowling, as i said, the track suited for the bowlers and they did the job well... Munaf had an superb spell with accurate line and length! Also he was supported well by Irfan n Sreesanth! Both the spinners did well too! Hope they continue the good form in upgaming games also

The wicket was ofcourse in fabour of bowlers... There was good movement... But all u need to play the shots is placing the ball correct and it worked well today for me and more important is , as Rahul said, the ball was coming onto bat nicely... It will be more comfortable once u settle in!

R.S : 179 not out is definitely a huge score... and this shd be one of your unforgettable knocks..isnt it?

Yeah ofcourse, i do remember each and every knock i played in my career! This will be one of the unforgettable becos we have registered our first win here today in this series and hope to do well in next game too! :happy

Welcome to the star sports preview of the final match in this DLF cup between Australia & India! The interesting thing is, this match is going to be like a semi finals i.e who ever wins the game walks into the finals! So its going to be an interesting match! Australia have already won the game against India in the first round at ease!

Hayden to Play As a Opener!

M.Hayden who was not even used once in the team 11 in this series is going to open the innings in net match against India along with Adam Gilchrist! Already opening pairs tested were, Watson & Jacques with Gilchrist but both the pairs failed! So this is the big opportunity for Hayden to make a strong impact again in ODI as a opener!
