Indian Bowlers Dominate the Situation​

Well it was all to play for , for the Bangladeshis today . They had to beat India my huge margin . It is difficult but no impossible . And they made the right start . They hammered RP Singh for 2 consecutive fours in 2 balls . Iqbal Siddique looked to be attacking both RP Singh and M.Goni . Bangladesh got off to a flyer . They had scored 27 runs in 4 overs with put losing a wicket. They needed this partnership to carry on and score some quick runs but RP Singh got the breakthrough . Siddque going for to much was caught by Goni at extra covers and Bangladesh lost Siddique for 18 runs at the score of 27 . As the partnership between Nafees and Iqbal was building in singles Manpreet Gony on his debut got the breakthrough . Shariar Nafees misread the slower one and was caught at mid on by Rohit Sharma for 19 . Bangladesh were 43/2 .

The responsibilty was once again on the skipper Mohd Ashraful to play a huge innings and help them post a good and defendable total . But it didnt happen as the Bangladeshi wanted . RP Singh bowled his best ball of the match to get rid of the skipper . Ashraful was beaten by pace of the yorker pitch on middle and leg and then went on hitting the leg stump . Ashraful had to depart for a duck and the Bangladeshi were in deep trouble at 46/3 . A huge responsibilty was now on Tamin Iqbal and Nazamuddin to stabilize the innings . Goni and RP Singh bowled brilliantly in the first 12 overs by giving just 49 runs and taking 3 huge wickets . Dhoni had now turned to his 2 spinners Piyush Chawla and Pragyan Ojha who was also making his debut . Tamin Iqbal and Nazimuddin were playing sensibly by taking singles and rotating the strike . Dhoni had set an attacking fielding as he had slip , point , gully , short leg and silly point for the two spinners . He was putting a lot pressure on the two batsmen to falter . But the two were cool headed . They rotated the strike very well . In the 18th over Tamin iqbal decided to take some risk worth taking as he smashed Ojha for 14 runs in an over including 3 fours . Suddenly the run rate had increased from 3 to 4.5 . But it was Piyush Chawla who did the damage . Tamin Iqbal trying defend Chawla got the edge and a good catch by Raina at silly point to break the partnership . Iqbal departed for 24 in 41 balls and Bangladesh were in some trouble at 81/4 . Mushafiqur Rahim the new man in got of the mark with a couple .

Bangladesh at the end of 21 overs are 91/4 .

Indians make Bangladesh struggle ​

Well Mushafiqur Rahim and Nazimuddin were last batting pair left in the side . The two needed to be careful and had to play long innings to post a good total on the board . But it didnt happen . The spinners were making the two batsmen frustrated and were asking to do something out of the ordinary . And Nazimuddin wasnt able to rotate the strike and hence went for the big on and was beaten by the turn and was cleaned bowled by Piyush Chawla . Nazimuddin departed for 17 of 28 balls and Bangladesh were in deep trouble at 100/5 . Well the next man in was Alok Kapali . He and Rahim both put on a healthy 49 run partnership . In which Rahim played an wonderful innings which included some brilliant boundaries . He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes . He also scored his 50 of just 38 balls . Both Irfan Pathan and Pragyan Ojha were on the receiving end of his splendid innings . But it was the bowling change which worked . Manpreet Gony who was brought on for his second spell struck in his first over of it and got rid of the dangerman Maushafiqur Rahim . Rahim went to pull but got the top edge and an easy catch for Dhoni . Hossain was the next man in .

He and Kapali tried to steady the ship but it failed as Gony got rid of Kapail as he mistimes a pull short and was caught at mid wicket by Ojha for 19 and Bangladesh were in deep trouble at 158/7 . Abdur Razzak and Hossain frustrated the bowlers by their small but important partnership of 24 runs . They both rotated the strike and hit the loose balls for four . But it was RP Singh who wrapped the tail . First Hossain was clean bowled by a yorker of RP Singh and then Razzak was run out from a direct throw from Rohit at mid on . Mortaza was the last man to be cleaned bowled by RP Singh's slower ball from round the wicket and the Bangladeshis were all out for 197 in 41 overs . RP Singh ended up with 4 wickets well supported by debutant Goni and Chawla while is was a cameo from Rahim which helped them to reach at least 197 .

Rain Reduces the Match ​

There was a lot of rain during the interval which was coming for almost 2 1/2 hrs . This resulted in the reduction of the match to 18 overs where the target for India according to D/L Method is 86 runs for the maximum loss of 2 wickets . Pathans make it very easy​

Indians needed just 86 runs in 18 overs and without losing 3 wickets . Irfan Pathan and Gautam Gambhir as expected opened the batting for the Indians . Irfan Pathan gave India a brilliant start by scoring 14 runs of the first over which included some great boundaries . Irfan was in a destructive mood and wanted revenge as he had not performed with ball . While Gambhir looked out of touch as he played and missed a couple balls . Mortaza who was smshed for 17 runs in the first over came back well with just 6 of the second . But it was the bowling Abdur Razzak who got the wicket of Gautam Gambhir . Gambhir was cleaned bowled by Razzak for 4 of 7 balls and the Indians were in some sort bother at 29/1 .

Yusuf Pathan came into bat for the first with his brother on the international stage . Yusuf was aggressive from the first ball as he swept Razzak for a four and later a huge six over mid on . Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan scored some quick runs for the side . As Yusuf had hit a six Irfan too smashed Razzak for a huge six the next over . As the two brothers were finishing the game Alok Kapali who brought on as a second bowling change got rid of Yusuf Pathan . Pathan nicked the ball and well held by Mushafiqur Rahim . IF India lose another wicket it could be all over for them . Rohit Sharma was given the message of playing defensive cricket . He got of the mark with a huge sweep for a huge six . It took 12 balls for the first runs . On the other hand Irfan looked brilliant with the bat . He smashed Ashraful for a huge six over covers . He also reached his 50 with a great boundary and soon later he finished the match for the Indians in the 9th over itself . Very comprehensive win for the Indians . Irfan Pathan was not out on 56 of 33 balls which included 5 fours and 3 sixes .

Indians beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets .

Presentation Ceremony ​

Ravi Shastri : Welcome to the presentation ceremony and we had rain affected match today but The Indians easily beating the host . Without taking much time I would like to call upon the losing captain Mohd Ashraful . Ashraful well disappointingly performance with the bat .

Mohd Ashraful : We didnt bat well on a very good pitch to bat on . The Indians bolwers bowled in the right areas and got us out for small score .

Ravi Shastri : Well after India losing 2 wickets you all had a a chance of winning the match , isnt it ?

Mohd Ashraful : Yeah we had a chance at that time , but Irfan and Sharma played well against pressure and won the game for them .

Ravi Shastri : Thanks , Mohd and good luck for the Asia Cup . Now ladies and gentlemen the man of the match award . This was very tough decision and finally we decided give this award to both Goni and RP Singh who destroyed the Bangladesh batting completely . RP you both bowl really great with the new ball and did the pitch had something for the bowlers ?

RP Singh : Well it was a good pitch to bat on . But I bowl in the right line and lenght and we got our reward .

Ravi Shastri : Manpreet how do you feel winning the Man of the match on debut ?

Manpreet Gony : Well I am very proud and happy today , I was very nervous while bowling my first ball but now I feel very confident and I am looking forward .

Ravi Shastri : Thanks both of you and good luck for the finals , now ladies and gentlemen winnings captain MS Dhoni . MS another easy win your team in now performing consistently .

MS Dhoni : Yeah , we played really well today and we givin more than 100% in the game , and all the boys contribute with something which helps us win the match , This is why we are consistent .

Ravi Shastri : MS your team in the finals and India is a clear favourite so what are views about the preparation for it ?

MS Dhoni : We are the favourites but you never know in cricket . About the preparation everyone is working very hard in training and we hope we win the finals .

Ravi Shastri : Thanks MS , and Good luck for the finals . This is all from the presentation over we will meet for the final between Pakistan and India in 2 days time . Still then good bye .

Easy easy easy. Irfan Pathan batted out the innings very nicely but Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan gave their wicket away unfortunately. Should of been at least a 9 wicket win or even 10, all in all though it is a win so congratulations.
