Man you are really training these guys well Jaz! Badrinath is in prime-form. However, it will be interesting to see if he can continue this same form against some of the tougher teams.

Great works Jaz.

Sachin Tendulkar : Injury Struck

tendulkarinjuredur9.jpg

Star batsman Sachin Tendulkar becomes injury stuck

Indian star batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been struck injured today ahead of the third One Day International against West Indies. The Mumbai and Indian batsmen who averages a little over 44 in ODIs and a little over 55 in Tests has been one of India's most decorated batsmen in the recent past. He has represented India 496 times means he is one of the most capped players and has all the respect in India and is referred to as "God" by many Indian's.

He has twisted his ankle whilst attacking a ball in training by Anil Kumble. The star batsman was coming down the crease and just as he was about to play a shot down the ground, his ankle gave way. Things weren't looking good for Sachin but things soon seemed a tad better as at the hospital it turned out he had only twisted it. "I was very lucky not to of broken or done any more damage to my ankle as it has been a bit fragile in recent weeks" was all he had to say on the matter.

It is likely he will be out for about a week and will miss the next two One Day Internationals(3 and 4) unfortunately for India. Unless he makes a speedy recovery he will also be missing the 5th ODI but soon will be revealed. It is rumoured that either Laxman or one of the young guys will take his spot. Sachin though, is going to be hard to replaced; not only for his batting ability but also for his leadership. Will India crumble without their captain?

Oh dear, that is a huge blow for the Indian team hopefully who ever comes in will do a good job for you!
Fantastic presentation mate, keep it up!:)

West Indies v India

Well after two very good wins against West Indies and a comfortable win against Guyana, alot of people are saying that Edmonds is their answer for a good coach. Badrinath and Singh have single handedly won India the matches and don't look like they are going to be stopped.. With the score currently 2-0 in the series, both team have another chance to win.. No-one has alot of help but the batsman are best suited to the pitch. Edmonds has made a few changes and here is his squad for the third game including taking out the injured Tendulkar:

Rawat
Badrinath
Biswal
Dravid(+)(*)
Raina
Laxman
Sharma
Singh
Chawla
Pathan
Khan

Only the batting lineup to change which was inevitable as Sachin Tendulkar twisted his ankle in training. Biswal takes the big job of having to replace India's number 3 and with that comes a whole lot of pressure. The second man to be dropped is Dhoni as Laxman comes in for a game to sure up the middle order as Dhoni was only being used for his Wicket Keeping prowess which Dravid can do. Badrinath has kept his place after his incredible performances and Rawat has kept his number 1 spot aswell after scoring well in the last match. Biswal has come in for Sachin at 3 with Dravid not moving at number 4. Raina, Laxman and Sharma make up the rest of the middle order as India choose to bat till 7 this match with their bowlers having the ability to bat. Chawla has come back into the team in place of Kumble at number 8 to act as the second spinner as Kumble hasn't been offering much lately. Pathan is the other spinner as usual with Pathan and Khan making the team at the bottom. This is Khan's last time to shine and if he can't he is bound to be dropped.

Gayle
Ganga
Lara(*)
Chanderpaul
Sarwan
Hinds
Baugh(+)
Bravo
Smith
Nurse
Jeremy

Only the one change to the West Indian team and that is fast man Nurse coming in for spinner Jaggernauth. This West Indies team lost the first test and all but Nurse lost the second. Their form isn't the best and Gayle is the only person to offer much resilience from the batting side of things. Gayle and the disappointing Ganga open the innings for West Indies with Lara, Chanderpaul and Sarwan completing a very strong middle order which has been performing under expectations as far. Hinds, Baugh and Bravo make the middle order which still can offer some help in the batting, field and bowling. The tail of Smith, Nurse and Jeremy are all going to be vital today as on this pitch they are going to have to bowl their hearts out when they do bowl. To be honest, on this pitch against the Indian team, even without Sachin Tendulkar, I don't think they have a chance.

Coin Toss

Hello and thank you for joining down here at the Coin Toss. The pitch here today has to be favouring the batsmen by just a little bit and with such a glorious sun expected to be there, you can't ask for much more. The bounce is even which will offer little help to the batsman and the wear on the pitch is very good which will help the batters once again. Got the pattern yet? The outfield isn't particularly fast and the light is very good. Those two attributes in the pitches haven't changed at all this series. The forecast is sunny all day and if the toss is won then it's going to be an easy decision on whether to bat or bowl. Brian Lara makes the call of tails and... wins! Brian Lara then decides to bowl first. The team that has bowled first every time has won, the Indian's twice. However it's a batting pitch and will make for an interesting match.

Windies win toss and elect to field

good update, unlucky to loose sachin, and dropping Dhoni is a big move, lets see if it pays off for you

Looks like a big game for both sides. I think you would have to back India in this situation.

Damn that is a terrible blow for the Indians. Biswal has his chance to perform here.

Great works Jaz. Keep up the great works!

No time to update today, sorry. Should get an update in after my football match, or before, so not all is lost.

Thanks for all the comments guys. :cheers

India sail to 235

Hinds.jpg

Ryan Hinds the only resistance

The third and very important ODI, if India win then they only need one more ODI to win the series. If West Indies win then they can still come back into the series. The players are out and the umpires are out. Kerry Jeremy will be opening the bowling alongside Ryan Nurse, whilst opening the batting for India will be Chandan Rawat and Subram Badrinath. We are bound to be for a good match here and the batsman really are looking for a good score here.

Opening 10 overs
Well India open the first 10 overs not really exceeding their talent and just playing it safe. Rawat didn't really attack many balls and only managed 9* off 28 balls whilst Badrinath hit 17* off 32. There was only one chance for a wicket which is when Rawat nearly edged it straight to the wicket keeper but the umpire said he didn't hit it. 10 overs gone and with the score on 26/0, no team is really in the lead.

20 overs gone
Rawat then starts leading from the front as after a few boundaries he is looking a lot stronger out there. Unfortunately though, his time soon comes to an end. Whilst trying to get the run rate up he attempts to sweep Hinds but misses the ball completely as the ball hits his pads plumb in front of the wicket. A short 58 minute innings, with Chandan scoring 18 off 51. Biswal in now, but will we miss Tendulkar? Maybe we won't? Some excellent batting then came afterwards with Biswal racing to 15* off 23 including 2 fours. Badrinath is still going steady on 22* off 47 but we now need to up the run rate as we are 56/1 off 20 overs. The match is still in the balance.

30 overs gone
With Badrinath now picking himself up and scoring boundaries and getting the scoreboard ticking, Biswal follows and starts doing the same. A catching opportunity came after 24 overs though as Badrinath went to hit Smith after a four but edge it straight where second slip would be. Fortunately for us, they don''t have a second slip. Biswal and Badrinath keep the runs coming and then another milestone comes up. Badrinath gets his second 50 of the tour. Biswal looks like he is going to get his 50 soon too. After more and more attacking play, the 30th over comes knocking. Badrinath is now on 55* off 80 after hitting many boundaries in that 10 overs. Amazingly and Biswal is 37* off 50 and is batting very well. If they keep this up, they should have the win in the bag. The score: 111/1.

40 overs gone
With the runs not coming as fluently as they were in the last 10 overs, drastic action was needed. Biswal brought up his first 50 of the tour and of his career but shortly after and Badrinath was gone! Totally misinterpreting the ball by Hinds, he played all around it and nicked it straight to their wicket keeper, Carlton Baugh. 63 is still a good score for him though as he is having an amazing tour. 40 overs up now though and the score is a little disappointing. We went too slow in some of the overs but I still think we can make at least 225. Biswal has been incredible this match in the place of Sachin Tendulkar which was not expected at all. He is 62* off 93. Dravid is the man in and he finished the 10 overs off getting 2* off 3.

End of Innings
With only 4 overs of the 10 still to play, we had already raced to 180/2. 1 over later and we were about to start the final 5 overs. Biswal was on 77* and Dravid on 25* 200 up! An incredible few overs brings Biswal and Dravid so close to getting their milestones, but will they get them? With one over left, Biswal was on 91* whilst Dravid was on 43*. The score 219/2. Well we got 16 runs off the last over to get 235 as our final score but who got the runs? Well one person got to their milestone and that was... Biswal! He ended up with 100* off 123, an incredible innings. Dravid came so close to his target of 50, only managing 49* off 36 in the end. All the bowlers were terrible bar Hinds who got 2-21 off 10 overs.

At the end of the first innings, India had got to 235 and had batted incredible overall especially the top three scorers. The openers for India, Rawat and Badrinath, both started strong before Rawat was unfortunate to go to Hinds for 18. Badrinath was next to go after a great innings getting 64. Biswal and Dravid took us home playing mesmerizing cricket as Biswal got 100* and Dravid got 49*. Biswal is Tendulkar's replacement and he has handed the pressure magnificently. The only bowler to offer much resistance was Ryan Hinds with 2-21, which isn't bad bowling figures. All the other bowlers failed miserably with two conceding 65 runs and one conceding 51 runs. If West Indies want to win a match in this tour then they are going to have to bowl better. India's total isn't as high as they would of liked I don't think so it will be interesting to watch West Indies innings.

India 235/2
Biswal 100*Hinds 2-21
Badrinath 63

West Indies need 236 runs at 4.72 an over
