India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

mitchell starc is being too expensive. I mean giving up two runs in five overs - he should look at hazlewood as an example for tight bowling...

to me though ever since Jadeja broke on to the scene I've always had this notion that his batting was better than his bowling and over the years that has changed,

I think it is a good thing that has changed. As things stand right now, we really do need a "bowling allrounder" instead of another stroke-maker who can bowl a bit. Especially considering how much we struggle to take 20 wickets. Hope he can come good on these expectations for the team

Saha at 6, Ashwin at 7 and Jadeja at 8. I would be satisfied with this as well, if Jadeja doesnt develop into a 30-35 batting average player[DOUBLEPOST=1420853399][/DOUBLEPOST]This made me chuckle. From cricinfo:

Ram: "Watching Rohit is like watching a serene windows pipe screen saver and suddenly the face of the ghost pops up and you fall over."

For Australia? We could collapse any minute on this pitch...

No that was the point, that 276 off 61 overs is a bit of a misleading stat.

Even if India don't collapse and have a 80 run session, no wickets lost, even then soon the stat will read, 196 off 30 overs. Thats not easy.

So if India need to win, they are going to start the chase now, and keep it at, atleast 3.5 rpo this session. There cannot be a ah well, lets leave it to the last session approach, for that would leave too much to do in the final session.

I still say that India start going for it now. If we lose, we lose. Remember this is the last of the horrid run we have, may as lose another while going for glory.

Ah, yeah we got to get a move on this session, usually in chases like this the 1st session is the drab one where the batting side looks to set a foundation to go from, we've got that now.

Dont think chase is on at all. Its just not that kind of a wicket.

But Kohli in now. If anyone can get the total even close to 349 its him.[DOUBLEPOST=1420858359][/DOUBLEPOST]
WTF was that! Wow!

dont tell me you are surprised. Its Rohit. This is expected. He already played 40 extra deliveries. Usually throws it away around the 50 balls mark

I was indeed surprised to see how a batsman with two double hundreds in ODIs can throw it away in this way; poking the ball. :( Mind you I haven't followed this series much.

Ahh. That is the million dollar question. Rohit is one of those guys who really doesnt put a price on his wicket. If you follow his career, you will soon get used to such insanity (I would strongly suggest not to follow his career though :spy)

His lazy elegance looks a lot more like Inzy but Rohit has to learn that even when being lazy Inzy was never poking at the ball. He was always playing it full confidence or rather leave the ball. Rohit should start learning the art of leaving the ball.

Oh so you have to laugh at ppl who don't quite agree with your views on DRS that it is a system made out of rainbows and sugar and spice and everything nice, meant to eradicate all umpire errors in the world. Also there have only ever been "two" bad DRS decisions in history !! Where have you been living man.

DRS has gotten a lot of basic pedestrian ones right, mostly where even the naked eye replay could tell you whether the decision was right or wrong. However the kind of nonsense it has spewed up over the years makes me wonder how ppl support this mess to begin with, where no one has a fking clue what they are doing or are supposed to be doing. Here are some DRS howlers for you, below, which will take it to way more than just the 2 you seem to know about. A system that throws up these many errors consistantly is nothing but a failed system and its about time ppl came to accept DRS as one.
Well, I personally think the goal of DRS is to increase the accuracy of decisions, not eradicate all error. It would be very interesting to do a study of accuracy of decisions of the DRS vs accuracy of decisions of field umpires, and the ICC/BCCI should do this. I think both the rest of the ICC and BCCI should be working together more to improve the DRS system rather than the standstill of communication we have at the moment.

Would've liked 30 more runs in that session, ironically 30 more runs and we're looking at exactly 159 runs off the final session to win it just like at Adelaide.
