India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

Sadly, we may have just watched Clarke play his last Test match. Clarke won't play any further part in this series. He has no regrets in playing the match though and lets just hope he can overcome his injuries.

Certainly going to be tough for him to get the confidence to last the whole 5 days after having his body completely fall apart this match.

Would have been rough losing a match where you declare twice, does show Siddle needs to go, just isn't penetrating enough and Haze confidence will be sky high. Pretty concerning with Pup gone we now have 3 and 4 as unsettled.

That was a great test match, I am very disappointed as an Indian I really wanted them to finish it off. Hats off to Kohli he is just incredible and brilliant, this is why he is our best batsman in any format of the game. The way he just attacked Lyon was amazing to watch. I also felt very bad for him and Vijay as they both showed such determination, grit, character to get us there but it's a shame that the some batsman just don't understand that (Rohit Sharma, Saha, Rahane also to an extent) and they do nothing but ruin the whole situation of the game. I seriously don't understand why Rohit or Saha can't contribute even 20 runs each if they did that that would have got us there instead they played senselessly and showed a lack of common sense. They should be ashamed of themselves to be in the national side for India and I certainly think they should apologize to Virat and Vijay as they deserve apologies for all the hard work they put in yesterday and throughout the test. Rohit has proved himself in ODIs and I still think he isn't a test player as he doesn't have the ability to bat anywhere in the world except for India. I really respect his 264 but make atleast a 150 on a foreign surface in tests and you will earn my respect. He hasn't played good anywhere, he failed in South Africa, New Zealand, England, and is currently failing. If Dhoni or Raina came in at 5 and 6 we would have won this match they wouldn't have let such a close match go after all the hard work done by our main batsman. It's a shame that Kohli's brilliance and Vijay's outstanding grit were really ruined once a wicket fell. I would seriously consider dropping Rohit and getting Raina in as I think Raina is better even though this is not going to happen anytime soon.

I have to accept that It still hasn't sunk in yet. I still feel disappointed that we were so close but lost again. It's like 90's all over again where we take relief from just giving fight in an overseas test. I really wanted us to win yesterday, it would have been the start of a new era under an aggressive captain like Kohli.

I really am disappointed because Kohli played a brilliant innings and we still loss. All his hard work went in vain and same with Vijay. This series is going to be more about Kohli vs Australia rather than India vs Australia.

Thats a sad news for Pup's fans!
Just wondering that if Clarke retires , then who will lead the Oz?
Smith? Watto? Who?

That I have to agree with. Had flashbacks of the Chennai test against Pakistan, where things went downhill despite a brilliant ton from Sachin

Having felt deflated and all after this loss, I wouldnt still write India completely off. India also have this tendency to surprise people on wickets where they are expected to be rolled over. E.g. We won at Lords this year in England on a very lively wicket where England's seamers were expected to roll us over. Even in the past, we have had memorable test wins set up in bowler friendly conditions. So all is not lost. Hope Virat keeps his form up and the likes of Vijay, Pujara, Rahane rally around him.

That Chennai defeat was way more heartbreaking. With us playing in India, we were a lot more confident than we were here when facing Australia in Australia. Also that was against Pakistan during a period of high political tension. And that innings from Sachin was an absolute screamer, also played in a lot of pain. But nothing to take away from Kohli's brilliance yesterday. He would have been gutted to not take the team past the finishing line.

If only there was a way to correct that?

:rolleyes

Serves them right for being idiotically stubborn when it comes to DRS.

Yup !!!

So Kohli loves us too much in test cricket 5thor6th 100 Against US !

Clarke should retire from one format.
Pup is already semi retired from ODIs. He hardly has played any ODIs(6-7) in 2014 and if He retires from Tests too , it might well be the end of the road for him after WC!!

Clarke in a conference today has endorsed Haddin for his replacement as Captain.
Lets now see whats in the store of Time's Womb.

Haddin : VC :)

Smith will be the replacement of Clarke[DOUBLEPOST=1418545427][/DOUBLEPOST]

You conveniently ignore what comes next. The bad umpiring only made this match better. Never did I say India lost this match because of poor umpiring.

I have had one of the worst fevers I remember in the past three days, and I saw the India 4th innings chase in that dazed state. I feel terribly gutted naturally, but I cannot help question some of the shots that were played. I think this is it for Rohit, and in the next test either Raina comes in or a 5th bowler.

Saha was the one who disappointed me the most, wtf was he thinking ... 15 runs in the over and he threw his wicket away like it didn't matter. Shami again, wtf was that shot all about?

Dhawan may get another opportunity as he got a dodgy decision but he needs to capitalise. The trouble is in the absence of Bhuvi and Ashwin India have a tail just too long. So playing 5 bowlers is a risky option, as Australia only need to pick 5 wickets, and other 5 wickets kinda give themselves away.

Bhuvi in addition to being our best bowler adds that stubbornness down the order. Thus him being injured was a double blow.

Vijay, Dhawan, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Raina, MSD, Ashwin, Yadav, Aaron, Ishant.

Raina to be the fifth bowler. Also adds some depth to the batting.

I like reading some comments about how its good that India suffer from bad umpiring decisions as they oppose DRS.

I only wanna ask all these people, were you just as pro-DRS during the 2 Ashes last year when DRS had turned itself into the biggest joke there was in the world.

I don't think you can oppose DRS and then moan when bad decisions are made and you can't get any input on them... Doesn't make a difference about what has happened other times.
