^^Shami is definitely going to play. Bhuvi can only be the backup seamer
BhuvI must be proud of himselft) and is faster too.
The current Indian selection policy is baffling. Ishant is a liability on these tracks and he is`nt good with reverse swing either.
Not a big Ishant fan but he was the highest wicket taker in the test series last time India toured West Indies. He took 22 wickets in 3 tests against a relatively stronger West Indies batting line-up.
Ok, but Jadeja hasn't really batted that well in previous series he played, though he had score a fifty in the tour match. I wouldn't really regard him as a batting allrounder but a bowling allrounder. He has appeared to lose his touch in the last few months. I never really liked Stuart Binny that much. He can bat, but doesn't bowl that well. (Seriosly, look at his stats)
To be fair, while Umesh was better than Ishant in the last test series India played (5 wickets vs Ishant's 1), BUT
Ishant was also better than Umesh in the series before that against Sri Lanka (5wkts vs Ishant's 13 SR of 13)
So its not that blasphemous.
Shami was amazing before the injury. He was our main bowler. Even Dhoni had said and even Kohli has said that when Shami is fit, he will be right back to the squad. Aftreall, they know about the player's capabilities than we do. Ya, Shami hasn't played since past one year. So what ? He was in good form before the injury and hence he is picked.Even in the series in SL, Umesh did get some crucial wickets. However, even by that extension, Shami and Binny ahead of Yadav is not fair at all. Shami has`nt played test cricket for ages and yet we pick him ahead of a guy who was finally showing some test match form against SA. The wickets that he got at Delhi were a treat to watch.
