International Cricket 2010 Discussion Thread

That is brilliant.

Ah. What I meant by that is you start your aiming during the run-up. I presume you can still change your aim quite late on but I'm not sure.

Basically, don't read too much into anything I say - it's just my general impressions from playing for a few hours.

I like the bowling aiming, anyway. I won't say any more on the matter than that.

Can you comment on the bowling animations then? Are they improved from Ac09 or the same?

Are you getting off on this?

I can tell you that there's frustration building. Frustration on these forums - I certainly felt a bit of it after this post.

The frustration comes because somebody from Planetcricket like you has their fingers in Codemasters' pie, yet you can't or won't tell us things. You're in a position to display sanctity, and it's annoying.

Q: Will stats tracking be included, like in all other normal sports games ever produced in the history of gaming?

A1: It will NOT be included, but I'm not going to tell you that, because it's negative (and embarrassing, quite frankly) and I don't want to put Codemasters in a negative light.
A2: I don't know, but I won't tell you that I don't know, because that makes me look bad.
A3: I know, but I'm going to string these guys on a bit, even though it's one of the most important questions.
A4: I know, but I'll wait for the Q&A, which will gloss over it and won't give anybody a straight answer about this or the tournaments (while the actual answer is NO).

My impression is that you get off on being involved with the company. You either want a job there, or it makes you feel important to have your foot in the door.

Unfortunately, you've got the rest of the public here who are the ONLY subjects in this matter who could get screwed after buying a $120 game.

I eagerly await your reply this time. Be careful not to say anything "official".

I think you're being a little unfair there,

The fact that he can't say a lot will be because he's been told not to, or that's what I'd imagine has happened.

After your long rant there its made you look like a right tool and you've come across as a patronising idiot, which, from the rest of your posts on this forum, you're not.

I understand your fustrated, hell, we're all in the hunt for the "holy grail," of a cricket game, but by venting to the one member who's had a little bit of an experience with IC10 isn't going to help us.

And I've done some research, from the words of LC himself;

"If you haven't fallen asleep reading that, I can tell you that I now have clearance to talk about the aspects of the game which have been made public knowledge (e.g. Action Cam)"

So yes, I was right. He's not allowed to talk about stuff thats not been announced.

Now get over it, move on, and just chill until Codies release more information.

i'd rather you told us nothing than come up with statements like that, i find it hard to believe you can play a game for a few hours and not remember if you can or carn't move the aiming marker late on :noway.

CaptainOZ, jaynffc,

Tom has been invaluable help for us in testing the game and giving us his feedback, making suggestions etc. He is a wonderful guy and not in any way shape or form 'getting off' on withholding information.

Due to the fact that this is a commercial product, you guys are really privileged to have Tom here to answer what questions he can. He can't answer everything you ask him, either because it hasn't been announced yet, or he simply doesn't know about it because he focused on testing the game-play.

Myself and the rest of the team are all extremely busy finishing this game for you guys at the moment, but I felt the need to de-lurk after reading this unprovoked and unwarranted attack on Tom, who's been nothing but helpful to us and has been really open and honest with you guys.

Kind Regards,

Heath

Right. I want to just clear some stuff up.

CaptainOz: The answer is A5: I can't tell you I'm afraid. That's just how it is. I've signed a legal document to this effect. I'm not doing this for kicks, or to wind you up, or whatever.

jaynffc: Whether or not you can move the aiming marker late or not is not that important. My honest view (which I will always express on these forums, whether Codemasters/Trickstar like it or not) is that I didn't really notice. Considering I was spending my time looking for negative aspects of the game, I wouldn't consider this a problem.

Simbazz has it about right - I can't talk about things which aren't public knowledge. That's just how it is I'm afraid.

Back to CaptainOz:
This is a bit left field, but from looking at your profile, and seeing some of the other topics you get involved in, I actually think we would get on rather well in person. I'm honestly, honestly not trying to annoy you by avoiding the question. You're better off waiting for the Q&A response (I have no idea what is in this, by the way, so the question might not even be there). If it's not in the Q&A I will try and find out from CM if it's something I can tell you about.

Also, CaptainOz, consider that I have specifically checked whether or not I can discuss stuff on this forum. I could easily have not bothered - and if there's something I know the answer to and I can tell you the answer, you will be among the first to know.

Basically, I'm not being a knob. No-one is.

Helios mentioned updated anims on the CM forums, so I feel OK answering this.

The bowling anims seemed to be updated significantly. It may have even been a total overhaul, I'm not sure. I seem to remember the run ups being different, and the bowling action being more fluid-feeling. I'd go with 95% certainty we have new run-ups, and 80% certainty we have new bowling actions.

You must remember, it's a few months since I played AC09, and that was PC, and I've played PS3 this time around.

The one animation I hope they got rid of is the left arm fast one. That one was just atrocious. Mitchell Johnson bowling at 150kph with that action!? It has to believable at least.
