IPL - Transfer/Trade/Auction Thread

WC is right, Shan.

Although I doubt they'll get Flintoff. If they do, it won't work for them, at all. Ponting - Ganguly - Flintoff in the same team? Good luck with that!

Nannes will be on 300k a season

while rob quiney is set to join the royals on 100k a season

Good lad. It's a wise decision, he wants to focus on getting a place in the Ashes, and his best bet is to play for Notts. Just shows that not all cricketers are influenced by the money. Broad ftw.

Not that it means anything, but Broad just gained a hell of a lot of respect from me.

Whoever gets Rob Key will get a class 20/20 player. He was really good for Kent, the last couple of seasons

OMG IT's CAUSE BROAD IS SCARED OF BEIN HIT FOR 6 SIXES IN A OVER. HE'S RUBBISH ANYWAY!!!!!!ONE!11

Just to beat any Indian fan to it. =)

But yeh, he's gained alot of respect from me as well. Showing that his game is more important to him than playing in a Mickey Mouse T20 tournament. Good on him. KP'll show the Indian's how to play T20 cricket anyway, so we don't really need any other Englishmen in there to prove how good we are =)

:p I don't think he was offered any contract. So he "wisely" pulled out.

Precambrian added 1 Minutes and 43 Seconds later...

Broad copped out before it became embarassing in my honest opinion.

Rob Key was legend in the 2007 finals of the 20-20s. Unfortunately my work commitments meant I missed the entire 2008 T20. He is a talented guy no doubt.

None of the England players have been offered contracts, the Auction doesn't start till February 6th, so you've embarrassed yourself there. Also, if Sohail Tanvir can run riot in the IPL, and Shaun Marsh can be leading run scorer, then Stuart Broad would have been immense. But he's not a money grabbing prat, so wisely has decided to spend the time with his county to develop his 4 day skills ready for the Ashes.

No, the difference is Tanvir was already a good T20 bowler when he was included in the IPL and had seldom bad performances. Marsh is not comparable as he is a batsman. Broad is a very very mediocre player in T20s and I bet nobody would have expressed first interest in him. Good as a backup perhaps given his batting, which is quite excellent for a tailender, but then for so many dollars, we can get atleast 3 Indian guys who are better than him.

So ....... now when Broad got his ass kicked in T20, you are calling 20/20 is a mickey mouse tournamnet.

Yuvraj sungh already showed that to whole English team ages ago.

No, even if Broad had taken 100 wickets in 10 games at an average of 3, the IPL would still be a Mickey Mouse T20 Tournament, and Yuvraj Singh will still be crap. I'm going to watch it, but only to see Kevin Pietersen run riot. It's a nothing tournament for me, holds absoloutely zero significance in the Cricket Calendar. It's just a way for pro players to have a laugh and a slog for a couple of weeks and make a fortune. Waste of time.

IPL has players who can match him better in this short format. KP is not the onlyman who can run riots :p i just hope we dont pay for him. Warner will be the man ;)

Spot the English.

Haha all people are hating IPL because its gaining great amount of success and main thing its run by the Indian Cricket Board. Just wait and watch when the ECB starts their tournament. Over there if Yuvi plays he will run a riot.

And looking at Broad as a bowler he is just not as good as Zak or Ishant or even Irfan pathan or Munaf Patel. Broad's father must have told him not to go and play in the IPL.
