Lankan players to play in IPL despite England tour

Several leading Sri Lankan players have IPL deals in place. The second IPL season clashes directly with the England tour and ticket details for the two Tests, at the Riverside and Lord's, are yet to be released.

It would be really interesting to see the second season of IPL,as peterson is roped in by Mumbai Indians,possibly Flintoff is with Kolkota KR,and few bangladeshis will be addded.

In what will be seen as the first corporate sacking of Indian Premier League (IPL), Deccan Chargers on Monday removed VVS Laxman as captain and Robin Singh as coach of the team.

Chargers handed the captaincy reins to former Australian vice-captain Adam Gilchrist while another Australian Test player Darren Lehmann is the new coach.

Ponting says : I am sure both Deccan Chargers and Gilchrist were not happy with the outcome in the first year," he added. He himself wants to play an entire season for his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders if the international calendar gives him the time."I would love to play full season for the Kolkata Knight Riders. David Morgan, the ICC president, has said the US$70 million proposal between Sri Lanka Cricket and IPL chairman Lalit Modi is "quite unacceptable behaviour against the background of Sri Lanka's signed agreement with the ECB".

IPL In my opinion is cash rich cricket,but one should not ignore his responsibilities with his nation,because many players have resigned/forced to resign due to these ICL and IPL.

IPL auction shifted to February 6
The IPL has taken some significant steps to protect the interests of its eight franchises, including the addition of a performance clause to its player contracts that will see players lose 20% of their match fee - on a match-by-match basis - if they don't find a place in the playing XI from the next season. However, this clause will be applicable only to new contracts that will be signed from now on.
