IPL ITV bags IPL rights in UK

Glad the 10 minute break is done that was just awful. Now they just need to do away with the commentary, every seconds word is about "how awesome is this environment? How awesome is IPL?" and every interview with every player is the same, leading questions about how "amazing and ingenious" IPL is.

After a while you will want to puke.
 
i recently purchased a freeview + box, much the same as sky +, but not as many channels/features, and i'm quite pleased i did now that this announcement has come out.

i'm still at secondary school, and the afternoon matches start before i get home, so for me to be able to record it, and then come in and start watching it, will be great.

also, as it's on youtube, i'll be able to download the highlight videos, and put them on my ipod using some software i've found.

Nope. I'm just very nit-pickity when it comes to quality of programming, can't stand watching sporting events in SD. I'll put up with it, but I'd much prefer to see it in HD.

Nice to hear they've binned the ridiculous 10 minute break, was one of the worst ideas in the history of sport. Completely disrupted any momentum a batsman had going for them. They should have binned the 'timeout' all together though, you don't need a timeout after 10 overs, just get on with it ffs.

I just hope we don't have to put up with Ronnie Irani in the studio this year too, his punditry last year made the IPL hard to watch, cannot stand that man. Almost as irritating a pundit as Stan Collymore.

Try watching all your cricket on a flash stream on an ancient laptop, then SD will feel like heaven.

I can only dream of HD cricket, saw a bit of it when I was in England this winter, sigh....

So when is it on? My TV guide doesn't say anything about the IPL nor does Sky. Is it only online or something? Youtube didn't even have any highlights up last night.

I am amazed by the lack of enthusiasm here.
I am no fan of ITV (I hate ALL their programmes). Until now.
I never thought that I would watch FREE LIVE cricket on TV again.
So I am over the moon.

Yeah it sucks big time. The first day I was getting a (although rickety) video of 350 Kbps which was much better than the 200Kbps now. Besides, the A/V sync problem is so annoying.
 
yeah, the Youtube stream is terrible, apparently ITV also have it live on their website, but i've been watching it on ITV4.
