Story Kent - A Cricket07 Story - Season Finished

so as the season comes to it's end it looks like Kent have got the title all sewn up,of course thats becuase they haven't had to play Leicestershire :p

Kent v Scottish Saltires - C&G Trophy Final - Lord's
1st Innings

An overcast but otherwise warm day greets the players as they walk out at Lord's. Dispite the good wicket Kent have decided to put Scotland into bat first.

6th Over

Key's decision to bat first seems to have paid off as in the 6th over Henderson takes the first wicket, its that of Lockhart, he is caught by Walker for 5.

7th Over

Richards follows Lockhart back to the pavilion in the next over when he fails to offer a shot to Khan and is hit on the pads.

11th Over

Scotland are really struggling to score and it goes from bad to worse in the 11th over, Watson is bowled by Khan without addition to the score.

15th Over

Dwayne Bravo is given the ball in the 15th over and he removes Watts with his very first ball.

Ferley repeats Bravo's achievement when he gets the wicket of McCallum with his first ball too.

Ferley gets his second wicket in his second over.

Lyons survives 6 LBW shouts from Bravo in the 29th over.

30th Over

Opener Knox is finally out in the 30th over. His 7 runs have taken 87 balls.

Ferley strikes again, this time he bowls Nel for 4.

The 9th wicket goes down when Lyons is bowled by Dexter.

A dreadful Scottish innings is closed when Hoffmann is given out LBW to Henderson, who was coming around the wicket.

Try playing it, it's 100 times worse :p

I considered not using a spinner at all but it would have just meant 50 overs of boredom as opposed to 40 (although if I have used Ferley for his full allocation I suspect it would have been over by over 30).
 
Yeah its now getting very tedious seeing the spinner make history in Cricket :p But other than that its good presentation and you try to make it interesting but C07 just really doesnt allow it :p

Kev, why did your story move earlier into the other story forum?

Kent v Scottish Saltires - C&G Trophy Final - Lord's
2nd Innings

Scotland start their defence with a no ball then things go from bad to worse for Scotland when in the second over Fulton edges the ball and it runs away for four, not once but twice in the over! Kent wrap up an easy victory (to claim their second trophy of the season) in the 8th over without the loss of a wicket.

Kent v Derbyshire - Natwest Pro40 Division 2 - Canterbury
1st Innings

Kent decide to go into this match without a spinner and on a mild grey day put Derbyshire into bat.

3rd Over

Khan takes Kent's first wicket when Stubbings aims a shot straight at Fulton.

Di Venuto goes in the next over, he had been playing with some aggression and is bowled by Henderson.

Birt is next to go when he decides to leave a ball that seems to be going down leg side, Unfortunatley Birt is left looking a bit of a berk when the ball clips the stumps and gives Khan his second wicket.

24th Over

After a very dull period of play South is given out LBW to a dubious delivery from Bravo. Bravo won't be complaining though as his appeals had been turned down several times.

27th Over

Cook gets his first wicket when Walker takes a catch to dismiss Taylor as the Derbyshire batsmen continue to struggle to score runs.

33rd Over

Cook returns the favour when the medium pacer is given a couple of overs.

After failing to take a wicket in his first spell, Joseph returns and removes Botha for a duck.

Khan gets the wicket of the only Derbyshire batsman to offer any resistance in the 36th over, Wagg goes for 20.

Joseph gets his second wicket when Jones is caught by Dexter.

The final wicket goes down when Khan bowls Lungley for 1. Derbyshire are all out for 46 in the 38th over.

2nd Innings

5th Over

Fulton goes on the attack in the 5th over and hits 2 sixes in 2 balls. He is caught later in the over going for a third to give Derbyshire a glimer of hope in their hopeless quest.

Hope grows in the next over, Kent are 29/2 when Walker edges to the wicketkeeper.

It's all finished in the 8th over when Key hits a six to complete another easy win for Kent.

Yorkshire v Kent - Natwest Pro40 Division 2 - Headingley
1st Innings

It's an overcast but warm day and a green wicket greets the players. Yorkshire make the surprise decision to bat first upon winning the toss.

18th Over

Yorkshire are scoring slowly but Kent are unable to take wickets, it takes until almost the halfway stage for the first wicket to fall. Wood is caught by Walker from the bowling of Bravo for 8. The wicket brings Vaughan to the crease to join Sayers.

40th Over

The only other wicket of the innings comes from the final ball of the match, Michael Vaughan attempts to hit Khan straight back down the ground for six but is caught by van Jaarsveld for 31. Yorkshire finish on 97/2.

You must be on the verge of snapping you CD :p but the presentation is consitantly good and its well written, all round good story :)
