IPL Lalit Modi sacked

As if it has never happened in India before...:sarcasm Almost every single person in India has black money. The black economy in India is larger than the economy of Europe, that is why India was barely affected by the global recession.

Hardly any relevance to him. We are talking about Modi not other people in India. When we start talking about other people in India then it will matter.
And he is in the spotlight and runs the biggest thing in India involving some rich people in some fishy business.

Other names will also follow him. Its just that Modi made himself as Mr. IPL that he is being targeted most.

Match fixing I dont think is involved by any way.

Its not a question of money being involved, its whether or not there is corruption.

They say you can't become an Indian politician if you ain't corrupt.

We need a dictator in India for like 15-20 years to sort out all the governing bodies. Tbh, it seems like the only solution.

There's no match-fixing. That's just Indian politicians at their legendary best.

Look across the border and you'll see why dictatorships don't work. India and Pakistan have both been sovereign countries for the exact same amount of time. India (democracy) is a global power in most measurable aspects and Pakistan (theocratic dictatorship) is in the 10 poorest and most failed states list year after year.

Also agree there is no match fixing, the players are paid so well they have no incentive to risk their IPL careers. Its bribery and tax evasion at the administrative levels.

I posted about his drug dealing issue back in IPL 2. This isnt new...

I don't mean a very Pakistan-sort of dictatorship, I guess something more "communist"-like but not as harsh. Someone who would take out all the corrupt people because he feels they are a threat to him. I'm not saying all Indian politicians are corrupt, but a lot of them are.

Modi is a git. Unlike Modi, at least Tharoor is a great orator and author(although what he did here was not right too - money-making was his objective). And the IPL is quite blatantly a way for Modi to make money. It's hard to see anyone taking over without succumbing to the lure of money. You really need a diehard cricket lover, more than a politician to run the IPL.

And his drug dealing isn't new. It's old, old, old, old news.

as a Pakistani I can tell you that the country has been at its worst when we had a democratically elected government. Baring Gen Zia-ul-Haq's bad decisions... Pakistan was really prospering during the Musharraf era before the democratic leaders all combined together to derail Mush's govt. and now once that was done, they started fighting with each other.... and will be taking alternative terms to run the country to the ground

Dictatorship is never the answer.
Even if there is corruption it is still better than a dictatorship. India still manages to get stuff done even with these barriers.

NO. Personally I feel socialism is the best answer for India but communism is a whole other thing that will take away more freedom for the people of India.

That's why I put it in inverted commas, I didn't really mean the loss of freedom and everything. Although I guess that's what communism does.

Stuff done? Jeez, building something takes forever. Buying a property results in you having to go to court several times. Hell, you want to build a road through your own property? Someone in a position of authority hears about it, they'll complain...and it goes to court. Although, it's your property and you have the clearance to build the road. Yet, you'll be forced to go through the whole court process delaying a lot of stuff.

There's a lot of stuff that's flawed, even if there is stuff done in some areas, that is a minority as far as I'm concerned.

Musharraf was undoubtedly an exceptional man, and one of the finest Presidents Pakistan has ever produced.

However, his ascension to the Presidency is something that should have failed (through the usage of a military coup). He got lucky, as did Pakistan.

Those who propose the usage of a socialistic society need to read Animal Farm. It's on many of the PC user's reading level for one thing.

Lalit modi has said that he wont step down and show all necessary proofs to clear my self from allegations
