Last Movie You Watched

I'm planning to go and watch "batsman, the dark night rises". However, I haven't watched the last two parts of the movie and it's pretty pointless to go and watch the 3rd part without knowing the exact story. I'd perhaps watch the last 2 parts first, which are the Batman Begins and The dark knight, if I'm not wrong?

Absolutely essential you watch the first two first.

You're missing out then.

Batman Begins is an excellent film, and if it weren't for The Joker in The Dark Knight, I'd easily prefer Batman Begins.

There is some linkage between the two for sure. A lot of the characters make more sense and are fleshed out better if you have seen Batman Begins.

You understand where Batman/Bruce Wayne is coming from, if you watch the previous movies. However, if you only care for mindless action (although Batman isn't only about action), go watch it before the other two.

I must confess though I have watched Batman Begins only partially, but I've read enough of Batman graphic novels to understand that Batman is not just about action and thrill, which probably most other superhero movies/comics are.

Okay, let's create a thread already. I can't be bothered posting in the spoilers tag. :p

Aditya definitely watch both the two movies before. I saw the TDK first and after enjoying it went back to Begins which was equally good. BB sets the stage for TDK and although not to the same entertaining level, it is still a fantastic film

No really, I haven't watched Batman Begins

I too have watched Batman begin

^ +1. I too have watched Batman begins, mostly the ending part only. But if you are Batman fan, you don't really need to see BB for story.

In that case, you will just be deriving 15-20% of the entertainment/fun that you get from the film. Initially, I had such a big aversion to The Dark Knight because I couldn't pull myself to watch it. But some friends recommended me to sit through "Batman Begins" and I did, and I am so happy I did. I enjoyed it, and that made my viewing of "The Dark Knight" enormously good. And after watching TDK, my appreciation for the franchise grew manifold. More than Batman, the highlight of Nolan's work for this trilogy is the way he puts huge effort in telling a real solid story backed with excellent screenplay and casting.

Nolan's interpretation of superhero films is vastly different from other superhero films. His superhero films are more close to reality, and are more than just mindless action. But he has made the best ever superhero film ever in "The Dark Knight".

Sad it's done tbh.

Warner Bros. wants a Justice League film and that's not possible with out Batman. Reckon they'll just reboot it with another director and a different cast, don't know how successful that will be though.
