Pollard not boring, but DJ Bravo boring? For a league like MLC where the local players are not expected of as high quality as other leagues, I feel DJ will be very effective! This season is all about star value to pull in eyeballs/crowds.

WOAAAAHHHH!!! Ambati Rayudu joins TSK!!! Didnt expect that! I just discussed about Rayudu and his politics and how he might not join TSK

I mean that was expected boring! I am just greedy to see "other players" lol!

Raydu joining and it feels amazing! CSK keeping their core intact.

Rayudu not been announced yet?

If he stays fit Rayudu will be an incredibly dangerous player to contend with.

Plus smaller grounds will help his power hitting!

That innings in the IPL final clearly showed what he can still do! That innings was what turned the game upside down when GT looked in pole position to close things out! Also Rayudu has just completed IPL and still will have the rhythm going from it and also was used very smartly as the Impact Player the whole season, which means he must not really be tired. And the entire MLC tournament is played within 2 weeks! I think its a great signing!

I am just surprised that he has joined despite his impending political entry. I didnt expect him to.

That is what has kept me excited about this league, short and sweet. We will see how this pans out this season and if they do a home away match once infrastructure is built up, how long will it take as the flight time would be crazy.

Well if it did coincide your argument would be dumb, what's the point of anyone playing the WC qualifier if they might not qualify?
The World Cup is shrinking and so is the Associates' share of ICC revenue, while county cricket provides players from smaller teams with a livelihood. - ESPN

We're talking about Raza and Seattle. There are a few differences between his situ and counties:

1- Zimbabwe have a more than decent chance of qualification unlike associates

2- MLC will not be the primary source of Raza's income — he has an IPL, PSL, possibly national contract all of which pay more generously

3- There is not a culture of withholding players in franchise cricket like county cricket. Even in the IPL, Josh Little left in the middle to play for Ireland. Teams sign overseas players fully aware of their availability.

The long term goal IMO should be to have two to four conferences with multiple teams playing akin to other American sports and a sustainable audience for it. We don’t have any country in cricket that is only geared towards T20, almost everyone of them has to deal with years of other formats ingrained in the hierarchy. It was @Aislabie who once said that the country which fully embraces T20 as it’s primary form of cricket will be the one to thrive in the near future and the US is a dark horse for that spot if they can build up a reasonable following.

But they still play ODI cricket? Although I agree with T20 being their 'primary' form, they obviously also care about ODIs, they've tried their best in League 2 and now in these qualifying tournaments.

I think if they expand too quickly, they will lose everything. USA cricket still needs to be managed properly. I wish someone like a Lalit Modi joins the ranks in USA cricket and revolutionize cricket here.

Also looks like TSK is only signing 7 overseas instead of 9.

I am guessing they are keeping the last 2 OS spots closer to their chests, for a later surprise! :D

They do play ODI cricket and care about it but they don’t have an attachment to it in the way other test sides and certain associates do. T20 isn’t their primary form anyway at the moment, no side has made it their primary format other than West Indies for a brief period IMO. My hypothesis asks for them to focus exclusively on T20s at the expense of the other two formats whilst also conditioning their fanbase around it, the latter is near impossible to do in most other traditional countries.

From the brief glances I’ve given to the Minor League Cricket it seems a decent place to be. I think tapping into it and ensuring it stays alive and well will be key.

I’m not sure if this league will be their NASL or MLS, only time will tell.
