Another bad decision. Inside edge. Unlucky Kohli. But brilliant innings.

Game set, and match for India. Superb innings from Kohli, and a very valuable knock from Yuvraj to give company to Kohli and stabilize the innings after that triple blow very early from Amir. I cant understand people who are criticizing Yuvi here. He has stuck it out there when things looked really bad and he is still there. Why does he need to indulge in flashy and crowd pleasing shots when all he needs to do is tick singles and take India home comfortably?

  1. Khurram Manzoor should never play for Pakistan again
  2. Afridi needs to retire with immediate effect
  3. Waqar Younis needs to be sacked
  4. The selection commitee needs to be sacked
  5. Hafeez needs to be played as a goddamn opener and not in any other position (he was sent to open just to protect Manzoor, otherwise he would've played at three), because that's his friggin natural position
  6. If Malik fails in the Asia Cup, drop him from the World T20
  7. A foreign coach needs to be hired as head coach
  8. Wasim Akram needs to be appointed bowling coach
  9. Sarfraz needs to be named T20 captain

I think Dhoni hasn't run slower than this in his 1st run where they got 3 runs. Even Harsha Bhogle said in commentary. Clearly shows he isn't fit. He shouldn't play anymore games in this tournament.

Had Kohli got out on the couple of chances he got, this could've been closer. Well, at least our bowlers showed some fight. Our batsmen need to learn from him how to play under-pressure (and also how to run between the wickets).

It's so hard to say because he has played so many gems but probably best T20 inning of Kohli against such a quality pace bowling on this kind of pitch which was not easy for batting. Really concerned for Yuvraj because he seriously struggles against quality pace bowling. His reflexes are getting slower and slower.

India's bowling is very underrated. In these conditions, we have a very good bowling attack. Hopefully they can continue their performance.

Now that the game tension has greatly subsided, time for me to doff my hat to Mohammed Amir. That was seriously a very frightening spell of fast bowling. I rate it better than Wahab Riaz's spell against Australia in the 2015 WC. The first 3 overs that Amir bowled, every ball looked like a wicket delivery. And this just magnifies Kohli and Yuvraj's efforts in the middle to weather that storm and keep India in the game, especially Kohli who also kept the scoreboard moving in normal pace. Even though he was out of the game for 5 years, he looked like he didn't miss anything. Had he kept his desires in check, Amir could have become a potential legend by now seeing that he started at 17. There's a lot more of him to come and Pakistan should stay optimistic.

In a T20 game, I wouldn't worry much about Yuvraj's struggles against quality pace bowling. Also these pitches are an aberration. Most T20's won't (and should not) be played on such pitches where batting becomes a case of survival. The actual concern with Yuvraj would be his inability to get the big hits going on batting pitches where tempo is very urgently required. But I think in such cases, our top order would be enough to really keep the momentum surging. On typical subcontinent pitches, I am not too worried about Yuvraj. If he doesn't find his hitting zone, others will cover up. If he finds it, its a bonus. His bowling is still useful (he picked up the crucial one of Umar Akmal today) and he has been fielding well (though not by his legendary standards).

Very happy with the efforts of Nehra so far. He has bowled pretty impressively so far and seems to extend his domestic T20 form into international T20's for India (Nehra was a mainstay for CSK in recent IPL). He has vast experience and he is still bowling at a pretty nippy pace. Nehra and Bumrah have now become frontline in T20's that its tough to drop either one of them for Shami. And same with Pandya who cannot be dropped after his batting and bowling exploits in both these games.

It was a mind-blowing performance by India. Winning the toss and electing to bowl first was an interesting move. Dhoni was not much bothered about the pitch. Bowlers did a fabulous job. Quite dissappointing to see Ashwin being most expensive bowler without any wickets.

Pandya did a fine job with the ball. I see a bright future of India ahead. Yuvraj played quite responsibly while the team was under pressure.

Virat Kohli, nightmare to Pakistan. He is someone whom I admire for in Indian team. Though he got out due to wrong decision by umpire, he was the one who played well in response to Amir's bowling. It is never easy to play under pressure. He was well supported by Yuvi.

Nehra has been a big asset to Indian Cricket for years. His vast experience and variation in bowling is something which India needed desperately few months ago against South Africa where India lost both ODI & T20 series.

Playing XI will be pretty much the same while there might be some change in opening pair or in bowling deparment (very unlikely). Raina's poor form is a huge concern when it comes to finishing the game or building partnership during tough times like yesterday's game. I will prefer Dhawan to Rahane which gives us the Right- Left combination plus left handers have the ability to play left-arm seam quite well.

Next match against Sri Lanka will be interesting to watch as to how India play against the 2nd version of Sri Lankan side (experienced side).

I wanted ti know the views on Yuvraj singh, who hasn't quite set the stage on fire in the few games that he's played. Do you guys think that he ought to be replaced by Rahane for the remainder of the Asia Cup ? Yuvraj has struggled in the recent games and has looked ugly while batting. Yesterday's effort too shows that he needs to do a lot of homework before facing quality opposition.
