You're telling me that Sehwag is above Jayawardene and Inzamam?

Biggest piece of crap ever. Please tell me how many matches has Sehwag won for his country. Not as many as Jayawardene and Inzamam, thats for sure.

The system can vary you know? Players that are currently playing can move up or down the list, judging by how they perform in the future.

For what it's worth, Sehwag has really performed well against Australia, who have been head and shoulders above the rest of the world whilst Jayawardene & Inzamam have really struggled against us. It's not as if they have played Australia in different conditions either, because they are both subcontient teams and have played away series' in Australia.

You can only judge and compare players on how they perform over a long period of time and this is what this system does and I feel the majority of the rankings are fairly accurate.

Sehwag is a matchwinner. Notice all the times when he gets off to a flyer, India normally win them.

Although he doesn't qualify on you listings. George Headley is one of the great players of all-time since he was able to average 60 in a WI side that had no other batsmen to support him.

Just a friendly warning that this thread should not become Inzy-Sachin version 2.

Headley only played 20 odd Tests though.

Gilchrist averaged 60 after about 40 Tests but finished with an average of 47 after 90 odd Tests.

Graeme Pollock would have been right near the top of that list if South Africa had been able to play more Tests in his era. Many people regard him as the greatest batsman of his generation, and possibly the greatest Left Hander of all time. In the 23 tests he did play, he averaged 60.97 with 7 hundreds. His tests weren't against poor sides either, the only 3 teams he played were Australia, England and New Zealand. He averaged almost 70 against Australia. Definitely one of the unluckiest players of all time, but still in my eyes, one of the greats.
