Review My initial impressions of AC13

You are talking about fielder? In some of the videos i saw, keeper does nothing to collect the ball. He just stand there and looks to his right or left and magically ball is stopped. :facepalm

----------

They tried to get this version approved for the consoles back in june? No wonder it got rejected.

It should also come free with a MF autobigoraphy detailing how in the living hell he managed to head a game developing company. :facepalm

The legend goes that MF was trying cook 'fried chicken' in one his invented 'kitchens.' He thought how to "trick" customers into buying this kitchen. Rubbing his chin he thought "hmm ... to trick people I would develop a company called Trickstar. I will lure them in through ... games." Hence, the result. So basically we were being targeted & corporate brainwashed into buying a kitchen. The game was complementary to it or just a ploy. It backfired when customers demanded game instead of a kitchen.

what on earth happened at 1:31....

And that was BEFORE they turned everything on ;)

That highlights reel is marvellous. At least 3 of the "Out" decisions I actually could not tell what happened... there's no correlation between LBW, Bowled or Caught? I'm going to assume there was at least one of those in there...

The more I see of this game, I'm absolutely convinced this first started its life as a game for Tablets or Mobile devices and then folks had delusions of grandeur...

I don't wanna play "gotcha" but this game simply does not line up with ANYTHING that Chief was saying a year ago. Mystified.

Questions need to be asked.

EDIT:

7.11 is the best moment in the whole video, if you can stomach watching that long...

But who will answer them?

Fegan will be borderline breakdown. He's gone into his shell and I can't blame him.

Very interested to hear Chief's opinion. He's still around yeah?

They might have done mo-cap using humans instead of robots:facepalm

In the mocap videos the guy doing the batting and bowling was actually quite good. He had a nice fluent action.

I like the bit at 7:40, because I've seen it every single time - when there's two runs and an overthrow goes for four, the commentary triggers as if they hit a six.

Then at the end once the final wicket falls, Slater is talking about how it's a tough hole to dig themselves out of.

It's not just the commentators you have, it's what you do with them. Nearly every event has identical commentary in that clip

At least the huge backlift from the vine video is gone?

My favourite part (thus far, i can only watch it for 30 seconds at a time before i need to get up and go outside for a bit) is about 1:55..
The loopy, painfully slow delivery watched on by a batsman who, judging by his body language, is thoroughly embarrassed to be in the game... followed by the dramatic.... BOUNCER.....1!!!!

Edit: does any of the commentary actually match up with the action...ever?

Like a lot of other cricket games the edge system seems completely broken.

It takes a real physics system like in MLB the show to actually recreate how the ball flies off the edge of a bat.

The money and skill to make that sort of system just isn't available for small developers though.
