Review My initial impressions of AC13

We were told in september 2012 by Chief that this game had already been in development since the beginning of 2012.....and they came up with this.......

It will be nice to know Jamie's take on this. I can't believe he was saying all those good thing about this piece of crap. There must be another explanation.

Mattw plz give me some photos of AC13, I have no access with youtube.

You sure, you have nothing better to watch.

It beggars belief to think what state this game was in when it was ditched in June......

Worst purchase I ever made on steam, bought the game and waited for it to download. Then I opened it up to play an Ashes test, played for 15 minutes it made me sick.. I mean it looked disgusting from almost all aspects, not all because menu is the best part of the game which actually looks good sometimes.
I have worked on many game projects before but even our small teams won't approve of the quality of this project.
Even when I was studying, we produced games of better quality. Let alone this game not being market ready, actually I would be ashamed if I made it in a small team or even as a college project.

Shocked

Hi,

I don't respond often, but I always follow the threads on planetcricket. I was one who gave MF a chance after the rescheduling of the release date. I downloaded and installed the game last night and once I did, I thought what the hell have they done, the menus look old school, I still gave it a chance so I continued with loading the game....Once loaded I thought hmm, this is very wrong.

The publishers/developers must think the cricket fans are dumb to even accept this as a game to represent the fantastic sport of cricket. What a shocking representation of the sport even with the 6 months delay. What the hell were trickster / 505 games playing at?

I bowled just one over and noticed so many bugs....They should be paying us to be playing it...

That is seriously the worst excuse for a game that has been so long in development and with such a prestigious name behind it. 1:30 of the highlights package was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Throw to the stumps hits the batsman running in the chest, stops him dead then they manage to run him out with his foot within inches of the crease.

Is it just me or AC13 is the most buggiest(is that a word??) game ever produced.. I cant believe ECB and CA actually gave the developers the license..

my favourite bit is where the ball creeps over the boundary like a one-legged asthma patient at the end of a marthon, and Slater says "what a shot, that flew to the boundary"...

da f**k man?... da f**k?

how has this abortion ever been allowed to see the light of day?

this is gonna be tough hole for trickstar to dig themselves out of...

echo the other sentiments though about this, and how it correlates to the game Chief was talking about, because it doesn't. then again, it doesn't correspond to anything we have been told by Fegan, either.

Atleast Fegan sounded like an asshole when he said "all that and more". Jamie on the other hand seemed honest.

Licences are bidding wars - you bid high for the license and then have to make the game cheap, that means you have to cut corners, even if you have the best design intentions.

When was the last time you heard the bowler's footsteps during the run up while still on grass?

Now i got it why there was no gameplay video or trailer :clap

Matt, can we just remove this whole Ashes 13 thread from forum and save the space on PC's server :mad

Is that the one where the fielder just stands there and watches slowly trickle to the rope?!

Also, why does the umpire have kneepads under his trousers? To stabilise his boneless legs (and body)?

Where is the option to turn everything on MF ? Where Da fling?
