New Zealand Domestic Season

I know he's not a world beater, but none of our batsmen really are.

He had two parts to his ODI career:

2001 - 2003

62 matches, average 22, S/R 57

2005 - 2007

40 matches, average 35, S/R 87

You can probably see what I'm getting at.
Over the latter three year period between 2005 - 2007, those are good stats for a New Zealand ODI batsman.

He's been away in England for a few seasons, and he no longer plays FC cricket, so I have very little doubt that if he'd been given another chance he'd be an even more improved player.

Well you've got nothing to lose - How fails again.

It's pretty slow going in Canterbury, they're only on 99 at the halfway stage in their innings.

Nicol's looking pretty dangerous though. 442 runs @ 63 this season before this match, and now he's on track for another big score.

Otago win :)

I was about to rubbish their batsmen when the score was 5-80, thinking a 6/7 of Broom and De Boorder was the most pathetic thing I've seen for a long time.

80-5 to 245-5, boy did they prove me wrong.

Darren's been going as well as his brother recently. And none of you rate de Boorder as a batsman but I keep telling you he's pretty good :p

Still, I hope they get out soon.

-Edit- Didn't realise the match was already decided on D/L >.<

Oh, I do. He's improved so much in the last couple of years from a specialist keeper down at 9 even 10 to a more than capable number 7 in all forms. I hardly go to the HPC nets at the edgar centre but I swear he's there working on his batting probably 40% of the days I've been there. Cumming has been pretty average this year, not too many young batsmen coming through should mean he'll play another 2 seasons for Otago i reckon, maybe more.

So what happens now?? Is it Canterbury Otago final??

----------

Just checked NZ cricket website looks as though Auckland will play Otago and winner plays Canterbury. Is this semi final game on TV?

The Ack Cant game was a major semi, and the Otg ND game was a minor semi, so winner of the major semi hosts the final (Cant), and the loser (Ack) plays the winner of the minor semi (Otg) for a place in the grand final.

I think just the finals on TV.

Auckland - Otago match, winner of that plays Canterbury in the final

I'm pretty disappointed they haven't had more of the one day games on TV. I think they did have some the last few seasons, but now they just show the whole HRV cup instead.

I think I like this new format though, kind of like the NRL system in the way that you can get a second chance.

Another OD hundred for McIntosh, and yet again Vincent scores some runs.
236 with 11 overs and 8 wickets in hand, we're all set up for a massive total.

How much do NZC have to pay How to get him to pull up injured?
Just give him match fees equivalent to someone who plays in all of our matches, and tell him to 'F' off and go fall down some stairs.

McIntosh is actually scoring at close to a run a ball as well, with 4 sixes

You should get at least 350 from here, with de Grandhomme and Munro to come. Since ND is out, I'm supporting Auckland :)

McIntosh what an absolute beast, get him in there instead of How. .

----------

But seriously I think it just shows where the quality of our domestic cricket is at. Auckland should win this and the final pretty easily considering about half their team is Black caps

Haha lol but the most annoying thing about it for me, is that everyone bar the selectors knew there was no way he should be there and he wouldn't do anything.

McIntosh has kept wicket twice as well (and he's a decent slip) so he could act as the backup wicket-keeper too :p

What a knock by Tim McIntosh, he really is a limited overs beast!
