New Zealand in England

At grass root level that would've been a dead ball (well certainly where i've played). BUT at an international level where your head is figuratively inches away from a guillotine it is understandable that players resort to such behaviour. Thats what ricky did in the 2nd test against India this January, India in the twenty20, etc. etc. Its not right. Its plainly dumb. But you got to remember that these players live for results. Its not a game to them. Its a livelyhood. I'm not pardoning collingwood because i think his behaviour was attrocious at best but i certainly see why such stupidity is so common at such a level as opposed to grass root.

Haha.

Good he has got banned even though it was not for what it should of been.

4 Match ban is a little over the top though.

Who will replace him? It has to be a experienced guy because of the captaincy.

Most Likely Strauss.

Strauss and Bell Openings
KP 3rd
Shah 4th
Bopara 5th
Wright 6th
Ambrose 7th

is how i reckon the team will go.

The run out incident hardly matters now, since New Zealand won the match. It was unsporting, not unlawful. Paul Collingwood has admitted he made the wrong decision in the heat of the moment, the two captains have made up and that is that.

More attention should be paid to the ridiculous way England lost. Graeme Swann did not even need to throw the ball at all, the batsmen would have been crazy to attempt another run so he should have just stood there with it and accepted the tie.

TBH.

He had to go for the throw if Broad was backing up as he should of been it was the difference between a Tie and A win. In the end because of Broads stupidity it was the difference between a loss and a win.

New Zealand did nothing against the rules in the incident you mentioned. The ball wasn't dead yet and murili was out of his crease

Collingwood didn't do anything against the rules either.

I was trying o keep tis way, but since you obviously want to see it.

No, you shut up. McCullum was facing Chris Martin who was returning the ball into him. When McCullum received the ball and broke the stumps. All he saw was Murili out of his ground. MURILI WAS CARELESS. THE BALL WASN'T DEAD. You can't go celebrate a hundred while the ball's still in the outfield. That's ridiculous. It wasn't against the spirit of the game, because it was done unknowingly. The umpires never asked our captain to take it back, because our captain would have, unlike yours the cheating and unsportsmanlike Collingwood.

That is a crap argument. First of all, McCullum was fully aware that Murali was out of his crease.

Secondly, are we assuming people's intentions now? How the hell do you know whether Fleming would have withdrawan the appeal?

No, he was Collingwood specifically asked to withdraw, he was asked whether or not he wanted to withdraw it. Huge difference

Collingwood admitted his mistake after the game so why you still see him as pathetic when McCullum did basically the same thing shows how incredibly biased your arguments are.

Collingwood deserved that ban, not for the run out incident but because England consistently have appauling over rates in both Test and ODI cricket. Of course Collingwood isn't responsible for the Test cricket part, he is at least a deserving scapegoat to hopefully dissuade captains from bowling so slowly.

KP as captain will be a good thing, he's learnt under some pretty decent captains, Vaughan, Strauss and Warne (Hampshire) so I think he'll be good. He's almost assured to be the next test captain, so it'll be a good test of his nerve in a much win game. Hopefully he'll lead by example with the bat as well, and make another big score. Wonder who's guna come in for Colly, better not be someone boring like Cook or Strauss, we've been batting slowly enough as it is. Matty Prior as a batsman possibly ? Who else is there around the country ? Key, Solanki, Sales, anyone else ?

Dimitri Mascarenhas is most likely to replace Paul Collingwood. I have never thought of Kevin Pietersen as captain material, but there is no doubt he will demand the best out of the players.

I'd go for Robert Key personally. He's been deserving of a place in the team for a while, and has certainly learnt how to bat in One Day cricket in the past year or so. Allows Wright to move into the middle order and have an opening partnership of Bell and Key. Sounds pretty damn good to me.

Mascarenhas isn't a good enough batsman to bat in the top 5. Shah looks good at 6, and Ambrose isn't batting well enough at 7 so really isn't deserving of a promotion. Luke Wright would certainly boost the middle order, possibly with him at 6 and Shah at 5. With Bell and Key opening. I'm a big fan of Key, he's good at using his feet, hits the ball hard and has all the shots. A recall to the England side has been long overdue for him. I'd like to see him in.

England will lose easily.

KP's Ego + Captaincy = Disaster.

Openers
Bell And Wright
3rd KP
4th Shah
5th Bopara
6th Mascheranas
7th Ambrose
8th Swann
9th Broad
10th Sidebottom
11th Anderson

Is how it should be.

According to BBC we've brought Strauss in. Eugh. We're going to lose.

Also, Banjo, you've proved you have less brain cells than Usy so your opinion is completely void, so please leave.
