Smith had to bowl or there would of been penalty for slow over rates anyway. Shocking over though, lost them the game although we still probably would of gotten home.

Smith batted great but had no support. NZ was the opposite. A good all-round performance from the batsmen. Good bowling from Nel, Patel and Astle.

Great start to the series for NZ.

What exactly is South Africa's new couch trying to do? Openning with Kallis? That is the dumbest thig I,ve ever seen, thought Gibbs should opened, Shocking. Mickey Arthur does'nt have a clue about couching a cricket side. He pretty much is doing his best 2 destroy the dynamic in the SA team. poor

I think Gibbs will open together with Smith during the ODI series. It was said earlier.

This was just a Twenty20 match.

Usually typos aren't a worry but couch is a classic.

Back on topic, Gibbs could well open but Dippeanar has done well enough.
Kallis will need to perform much better.

NZ didn't need to attack. They only needed 130 odd, at just over 6rpo. What's the point in going hell for leather and losing all their wickets after 10 overs for 120, but hey, they'd have entertained the crowd eh? It'd be a different story hadn't SA blown it and posted 180-200, as they should have done given the start they made.
I thought NZ went about it in the correct way. They won after all.

Time for the real action to start. The only factor SA will have in their favour is home ground advantage. Everything else NZ dominate although without Bond, NZ's bowling hasn't been the best lately.

I beg your pardon? Thats harsh mate. Thats a disgusting attitude.

250 is a very decent target. I thought we batted well considering the conditions. Luck wasn't in our favor much. Fleming in such red hot form going out to such a great low catch, McMillan going out in a funny way, McCullum being caught off a shocking full toss and that stupid run out. Was a good all-round batting performance in my opinion finished off beautifully by great running and Adams. SA in the field were absolutly fantastic. 1 difficult catch was dropped but otherwise flawless. Their bowling was ok, Nel got the two most important wickets of Fleming and McMillan once they were in so he bowled the best.

South Africa will have to bat very very well. Its going to be extremly hard to chase this score on the pitch. Its not the best, obviously hard to get started on. With Vettori and Patel and Astle also if required, its going to be tough going. Did I even mention SA will have to survive Bond.

I think its pretty evenly poised. Anyones game still.
