New Zealand Tour of India, November 2010/11

If India does go on to lose this match, i expect many to suggest changes in batting order, but all to forget how ordinary Harbhajan was made to look. Infact he shall continue to be our lead spinner, and by the end of the series would be praised despite ending up with a bowling avg of above 40.

Congratulations to NZ, a great team effort, hoping that they don't throw all this away on the 5th day and make India earn their wickets.

  1. Forgot the pressurizing 100 against SA during following on? India lost still.
  2. Pressurized 84 runs in following on again Vs SL
  3. In the same series against Lanka, when SL put a might 650 on the board, he kept his head cool along with Laxman and Raina with a double ton. It's not easy to do that after a following on defeat in previous match.
  4. Tendulkar's first innings 100 against Bangladesh also add to the pressurized one because, wickets kept collapsing in other and Sachin's ton took our score to look atleast a competitive one. ( 243/10 )

Just a couple of points:

1. Saying "Pressurized" or "Pressurizing" is not really correct in this case. Sounds like you are talking about a pressure chamber. Unless of course they were playing in a pressurized stadium :spy

2. That double Sachin got in SL was one of the easiest batting conditions ever seen. Please don't tell me it was under pressure.

Harbhajan has looked ordinary for a long, long time. He produces once in a while spells of brilliance and keeps his spot, but never remains consistently threatening. Which is a big problem when he bowls the bulk of our overs, and guys like Ojha and Sreesanth aren't exactly ripping through sides.

The problem is, who else do we have? Ashwin is still too new and inexperienced, Mishra keeps flopping every chance given to him, Chawla is coming back into reckoning but has to do more, and Murali Kartik has clearly done something to piss off all the selectors.

Lol just came on to check the scores and wtf is happening?

Still think India is gonna win but well played by the kiwis :clap

Yeah, it's never over until it's over for NZ. If anyone can mess it up from here it's this team. What annoys me most is that it took the coach to call these guys a bunch of dicks for them to perform, they need to show todays spirit each time they step on the field.

Oh and Laxman is becoming the bane of my life, needs to gtfo early tomorrow.

The real problem is we lose patience with youngsters especially bowlers too quickly, partly to blame our obsession with batting.

One needs to give young bowlers an extended cushion to cover up for some botchy performances. Same applies for so many pace bowlers we have tried and shunted. Often they just travel around the world with Indian team, classic example Tinu Yohannan who travelled with Indian team for abt a year but the big name Ajit Agarkar continued to hold on to his spot. Now the big name of Harbhajan Singh would mean young spinners would keep fighting amongst themselves for places, whilst Bhajji will speak in his defence that fans want him to get 5for all the time. Really he should go play some Ranjhi cricket to be the threatening himself he was once.

Once again Laxman would have to save India. I know it is highly unlikely to expect a similar partnership again but it is not impossible :) Laxman tends to d better in these conditions

All India need to do is to cross the 150 mark,if that happens then India is not gonna lose this match.

What happens if we get a first innings lead, Bennett comes back and bowls with a vengeance, takes a five-fer, Vettori takes a few wickets and Williamson another few, and we get 200 to chase in 2 sessions huh? Extremely unlikely but don't think we don't have a chance here!

Chewie's wish came true, Only the bowler was different :p

,if that happens then India is not gonna lose this match.

Why? Pitch is doing absolutely nothing at the moment and New Zealands batsmen easily got over that score first time round.

Had the pitch ripping turn or uneven bounce perhaps but it doesn't

He's got the right spirit though. India will have to be thinking like that if they want to win this...

Wow this is great stuff from the Kiwis. They batted really well even though Kane Williamson was really lucky to be able to continue his innings after he nicked one off Zaheer Khan and now Martin's produced a great spell.

but I still feel India will win this match somehow :noway

Hehehe. A kiwi wish completed, now time for a Indian wish :D. Remember how India Bowled out Australia after lunch on the final day in 2001. It was a low total in that match too. Lets hope Laxman can get India to 250:p and then bowlers do the magic

After seeing the score at 15/5, i thought we are heading for our lowest total in test. All depends on Laxman now. Haven't watched the match, can someone tell if Martin was bowling really well or the batting was completely bs? Finger crossed for the final day. Hope Laxman will play a special innings.
