Total SL dominance on 3rd day too, SL 157/2,they now lead by 339 runs,NZ look helpless....It seems they will loose this one too...

Talk about taking a dig.

If one of our batsman don't make a ton this Innings, I will seriously reconsider flying over to New Zealand for the Tests against the Aussies.

No thanks sir, but I wouldn't mind a Tim Weston! :D

I was joking about De Border btw :p

Pretty average day for us today, it's a shame Taylor wasn't able to go on and make a century. Couldn't believe Vettori got out to Dilshan either.

Thoughts on McCullum. First of he did pretty well to take that "catch" of Parvi haha, he's easily NZ's best keeper and probably the second best glovemen in the world. His batting seems to have hit the wall though, it seems like he doesn't know what to do. I don't think I've seen him play one agressive shot all tour tbh. Would anyone have a problem with him opening the batting in test cricket, he wouldn't be any worse then the other 5-6 openers we've tried over the past two years and this would let us play guys like Neil Broom and co?

Yeah I know, he's got a mortgage on that spot until he calls it quits IMO. You would need to chop his arms off before anyone would consider dropping him, and even then i'd still consider taking him over any other keeper in the country.

I agree though, that he needs to go up to the top of the order, I feel he goes better as a batsman when he gets to establish the pace of the game, rather than come out under pressure at 6-7 and trying to restrain himself by slowly build a partnership.

I think him and Guptill are worth looking at as an opening pair, just let them come out and blast away, and like you said even if they get out cheaply, it isn't as though they're going to hit anymore lows at the position.

just feels like it's all going right for SL. Dilshan finds his feet opening, their traditionally "worst" middle order stalwart is now the top run scorer for the year. They can pick between three top spinners, Vaas retires and yet they even look like they have a stock of good quicks to pick from, they've just gone 2 in the rankings.

when did all this happen?

McCullum's still worth keeping for his wicket keeping alone, which is why his form dip isn't a worry for me. Plus he's in the lower order. It's not his fault he keeps coming in when we're in trouble and the other side has their tails up.
