Hayden and Hussey played some outstanding shots to Vetori and Pathan....Hussey played some great cover drives to Pathan....Muralitharan was bought into the attack...and he striked....He got rid of Hayden...Hayden went after Murali and was caught at the boundary by Yuvraj....Finnaly the Partnership was broken...

Symonds came in....Hussey was looking in terrible form ....he played a superb leg glance against Vettori for 4 to raise his 50....50 of just 26 balls....Symonds on the other end was in hurry to finish...he hit Vettori for 2 sixes in the same over....Muralitharan got the Hussey out...Hussey trying to play for the single and was beaten all hands up by the Doosra and nicked it to Dhoni....World XI striked...128/4....Clarke came in and he was droped by Bond on 0 .....while symonds on the other end hit another 2 sixes and a four to Vettori....Bond was brought into the attack...

He struck...he got rid of Clarke...Clarke trying for a big one but was caught at long on by Oram...Hopes playing the same shot and was caught by Oram at Long on....Bond on a Hatrick...and He got his 1st T20 hatrick...Warne trying to puul a short one and was caught at mid wicket.......

In the next over Muralitharan got rid of Symonds...Symonds was bowled of a full toss...Symonds made a quickfire 45 of just 13 balls......World XI got some 4 quick wickets....and were in match with the upper hand....

Dhoni made a last minute change by giving the ball to Jayasuriya instead of Oram....Dhoni and Jayasuriya had some plan in their mind...Jayasuriya was bowling superbly in the same areas....he was tempting Johnson to play the sweep...Johnson tried to do it in the firts 4 balls but he was unable to get any run....the fifth ball he tried it again and he got a top edge and the ball went high and was finnaly caught by Ashraful at short fine leg....World XI and Jayasuriya celebrated....McGrath came in to bat...the firts ball he played he took a single....and kept the strike
KP suprisingly continued from the other end...he was unable to get any turn on the ball....McGrath and Brett Lee could easily rotate strike of his balling and took 2 runs of his over ....
In what a total climas in the last over....Aussies needed 4 runs to draw and 5 runs to win of the last over...Jayasuriya continued...McgRath took the single of the firts ball...Lee on strike...he also took a single ....McGrath faced Jayasuriya...whole stadium was tensed...so as the the players....McgRath faced Jayasuriya...McGrath played a gr8 cover drive for no runs...Aussies needed 3 runs of 3 balls....Everyone was feeling the heat....McGrath tried to play a leg glance and he was rewarded with no runs...Aussies need 3runs of 2 balls..McGrath was know feeling the heat...Lee had a small chat with McGrath to rotatethe strike...but McGrath was unable to due it has the ball was pitched on the leg stumps and was sweep to short fine leg for no runs....Aussies needed 3 runs of 1 ball....McGrath needed a boundary to win it...Jayasuriya pitched the ball again on the leg stump...McGrath tried to fick it of the pads but was caught at square leg by Yuvraj Singh....Aussies were all out for 175...World XI celebrated their first ever T20 triumph over the invincible Aussies....
World Xi were able to pull this dramatic match from no where....some superb bowling by Jayasuriya and captaincy by Dhoni won the match for World XI..

Presentation Ceremony with Ravi Shastri...​

RS:Well come ladies and gentlemen to the presentation ceremony ...we were able to see some great cricket played by both the teams...but at the end Aussies fell 2 runs short of victory....

First of all i wud like to call up the Australian team captain Ricky Ponting...

Ricky it was always going to be difficult to bat second but your team fought well and just fell 2 runs short..

RP:Yes it was a chaseable score on such wicket...We didnt capatilize the situation when they were 98/6 ...a wicket at that mment wud have completely changed the scenario...i wud like to congratulate KP for his first ever T20 hundred and also Shane Bond for his first ever T20 hatrick...it was very difficult to play Bond and Muralitharan in the second half of the match...they were just bowling superbly...and that why we fell short...

RS:You have the final of Chappell Hadlee Series next any thoughts about it???

RP:It wud be a very entertaining final for both teams....We wud give 100% to win and retain the cup....

MD:Yes , we were in very difficult position when we were 98/6 and then KP and Pathan didnt lose their head played some sensible cricket...Then with ball Bond was just excellent and even Murali was superb....credits shud be given to them....I wud also like to thank the crowd who turn up for the match and the sponsors with out whom this event wudnt have been possible...
