Adam Gilchrist and Mathew Hayden opened the batting for the mighty Aussies who were playing to retain the Chappell Hadlee Trophy...While New Zealand were playing to regain their form and also defending the trophy...Bond opened the bowling for the Kiwis...The first ball that Gilchrist played went for boundary...It was a good looking on drive by Gilly...What an aggressive start this was by him...but soon Bond Got the better of him...Gilly trying to defend a shot one but due to more bounce on the ball Gilly couldn't control it and the ball caught by Gillespie at Mid Off...What a start it was for the Kiwis...Aussies had lot their Keeper for the just 4 runs...at the score of 5 of the team....

Ricky Ponting the captain came into the middle..he was under a lot of pressure has he had become a flop in this series ....Mark Gillespie shared the new ball with Shane Bond...he was able to get the swing away from the left handers and was able to trouble Hayden...Hayden and Ponting played some sensible cricket as they rotated strike and made the bolwers unsettled.....Hayden was looking in good nick as he cutted Bond through the gap for four...the next ball he just timed the ball through point and gully for another four ...in the same over Hayden went over the infield for a four...Bond conceded 13 runs in that over...Hayden kept strike as he faced Gillespie who was trying to trouble Hayden and Ponting with the shot ball...But Hayden hooked one for six over Fine Leg...Hayden looked in some sublime form...

This partnership was developing well...Hayden was doing the scoring only...with Ponting who was rotating the strike....Vettori made a fielding change as he sent mid on back to the fence and he brought mid wicket in a position between mid on and mid wicket...Hayden tried to take the advantage by rotating the strike but he was poor to judge whether there was a run as he hit the ball in the hands Gillespie who was standing at mid wicket...this misunderstanding lead to the run out of the skipper Ricky Ponting who yet again failed th trouble the opposition with runs....

Michael Hussey walked in when Australia were 30/2....It was upto Hayden and Hussey to stabilize the innings...Huseey played some great hook shots for four against Gillespie while Hyaden was rotating the strike....
At the end of 8 overs Australia were 49/2....

Brief Scorecard

M.Hayden 22*
R.Ponting run out 8
M.Hussey 9*

S.Bond 4-0-30-1
M.Gillespie 4-0-19-0

Till the entire Aussie innings finish/all the wickets fell, its tough to comment on Aussies position. Lets see how the situation shapes up from here.

Keep up the fantastic works. :)

Hussey and Hayden played some great shots...Hussey was playing some great hook shots of the bowling of Gillespie....But soon again due to poor running between the wickets Hussey was run out...again due to the mistake of Hayden...poor calling by Hayden....NZ get the break through...Aussie 69/3...

Symonds who is known for his destructive batting came in...Hyaden and Symonds went after all the bowlers...Styris was smashed to the third man boundary for fours...hayden played some really good late cuts of the bowling of Styris...While Symonds went after Franklin ....Hayden reached his 50 with a glorious four of Franklin....Soon Symonds and Hayden brought the 50 run partnership between them...it was a very much needed partnership for the Aussies as it stabilize the innings....

Soon as the partnership was getting from bad to worse...Vettori got the breakthrough of Hayden in his first over....Hayden was bowled while sweeping the ball which was bowled from the round the wicket.....Hayden went for 58 runs...good and entertaining innings came to an end as the crowd stood up to congratulate him.....Vettori got rid of symonds in his second over...Symonds was probably beaten by the pace of the yorker.....Symonds departed for 35 runs of 27 balls.....while on the other had Franklin got rid of the new man Clarke for 19 runs....Aussie middle order fell for just 32 runs....

Hopes and Hogg came in to post a reasonable total for the New Zealanders to chase....Hogg and Hopes played some great shots to Styris and Gillepsie....both rotated the strike and also smatched the loose ball for four....

After 35 overs Australia are 205 for 6....

No it's a mod.

Anyway that is excellent work by New Zealand. Looks like it was the right thing for me to trust them.

Excellent graphical work mate, this story is a gem in the rough (thank you rep bar :p) I'm really enjoying reading it.
