Did you watch the last match where he scored a 47 and lifted the team to a winning total? He has played his pinch hitting role to good effect. When you play such a role, you are bound to have some failures here and there. Both in the South Africa T20's and in this tournament, Raina has contributed more than enough to be given an opportunity in the ODI side, especially lower down the order where his pinch hitting skills can be used to the fullest. And definitely he is a better option than the likes of Jadhav or Karthik in ODI's because when Dhoni returns back, we dont need a second keeper and Raina is a better fielder and bowler than Jadhav.

I would most willingly want Raina to be in the team, but you misunderstood me. He is an excellent player, India need him. But in terms of selections, I don't know if the selectors will pick him. We do really need him.

I think DK there might have just saved Vijay Shankar's career from being shut down. WHAT A FREAKIN' KNOCK DK!!! WHAT HITTING!!! MASSIVE!!!! Actually it was a very good move to keep DK for the end and send Shankar ahead. Its just that Shankar made the equation incredibly difficult for India in that over against Mustafizur.

Vijay Shankar needs to take a deep breath and go back and soak in as much knowledge from this experience as possible. I hope he is given more opportunities. He has bowled decently in this tournament, fielded decently to good, and this was his first hit in the middle and hopefully he should be cut some slack and not dumped quickly!!! An experience like this could do him a world of good.

Just checked the scorecard, Pandey and Shankar played very slow for some reason making it an unexpected close contest. We were quite lucky to win this match, an absolute savage innings from DK that saved this one for us.
