Nov 25-29: 1st Test: Australia v England at Brisbane

One thing I think in regards to crowd attendances is that in a tight economy, and with Christmas coming as well as interest rate rises, that taking days off when you have to work may play some factor in it.

Strauss will definately declare, there's a bit more intent out there now, we could be almost 300 ahead by lunch if it all goes our way. Put on another 50 after lunch and put the Aussies in. Open with Anderson and Swann and see what happens....

Get to a lead of 250 after lunch and I don't see how we can lose. There not going to chase 250 in one and a half sessions. Australia's batting can be suspect at times, so we could be in with a chance.

Think I was being a bit hopeful with 300 by lunch but at the end of the day we don't want to give Australia a total that they could miraculously reach. If 300+ runs can be scored in a 50 over game it can certainly be scored in 2 sessions although quite unlikely. A draw considering where England were at the end of day 2 is almost as good as a victory, I just have a sneaking suspicion today could be Swannys day

A mates just sent me a txt saying that we should keep them in the field all day so that they're completely demorilised and worn out with Adelaide only a few days way. My main worry with it, is that the bowlers may be so knackered they may be replaced by some good ones;)
What do others think??

Don't get factual. Your support is shite; end of.

Of course it is. I agree tbh. Half the crowd at every test in Australia are people who just rock up because it's an 'event' and 'johnzon score duh fast runz & take lots of wicket'.

When we're getting caned, those people wont turn up.

I thought Siddle and Hussey would be the only candidates to get the get the man of the match award. Cook's a certainty to get it now.

I don't think they have the guts to drop Johnson. I'm willing to bet that Siddle will be picked again merely based on his first innings performance. Hilfenhaus hasn't really done too much wrong but if anyone were to go, unfortunately you feel it would be him (even if it shouldn't). It's a good plan in theory. Just hope that they are only "knackered" and not injured.

"We get three dollars, to the pound!"

Brilliant boys, fair play.

This must be some kind of record for overs bowled unproductively.
