Official Apology from AC13 officials

Dammit... first people steal my avatars and now they're stealing my catchphrases!

But yeah, Matt hits the nail on the head. All their Facebook questions are going to be the same ones we've had answered now for months, they're just going to filter them via selective policy on facebook rather than selective policy on PlanetCricket.

I think they may want to steer clear away from PC from now on. Fans here are not as gullible as say on FB or Twitter.

So basically they are just going to ignore the guys who literally helped them out with the game by putting in stats.

Great...

They haven't explicitly said they're ignoring us, just that they're cutting out the middle-man, so to speak... and taking the Q&A to their own controlled environment on Facebook.

Which, as Matt has said... is pretty fishy.

I think pretty much every permutation of a Q and an A has been given in our thread. Can't imagine what new info they'll be giving in a Facebook environment, save perhaps, "we're putting back in X feature"

this is just a pathetic way of delaying the game :D let me remind you these are the same people who gave us all WEEKLY podcast lol

I guess what this is also means is PlanetCricket won't be getting invited to the next cake n'crumpet meet and greet?

This apology should have happened weeks ago at the least.

There's even more pressure now on these guys to release a really top notch cricket game.

I don't know why but this apology brings a positive tone after past week's disaster. And I think everyone deserves a second chance; atleast they took the time to type such a big post (which I was surprised).

No love no hate either for me. Lets just watch how their plan unfolds and then comment on it.

Now go back and read the line I quoted. It is as simple as it can be, "rebuild" the technology!

You don't release screenies/vids to focus on development, still miss the date by a huge margin, then you talk of rebuilding the technology and providing screens/vids very shortly, back to the weekly podcasts. Common 505, we are no fools. An apology fine, but that doesn't justify your deeds.
And i'm still stuck on "rebuild" the technology, simply disastrous!:facepalm

Nah, you're misinterpreting it.

They don't mean they're rebuilding it now and that's why it's delayed. They meant they decided to re-build it when they took on the project rather than just tweaking the IC10 engine, and because of this they've not had the resources to release screenshots, videos etc. They were explaining their lack of communication throughout the process in that line; not the delay.

They didn't own the rights to the IC10 engine. They couldn't tweak if they wanted to. This is the oft-repeated but totally untrue statement. For better or worse, this title has not (and cannot) be "built" from other titles because they simply don't own the code that was previously used...

We can only assume "rebuilding" simply means "we're still making the game as good as we can in the time we have" ...which depending on their obligations, may or may not be later than sooner.

This apology isn't impressive, its just obvious PR. Actions speak louder than words

Indeed, and they've spun that as best they could. :p

Nah I'm 100% positive the re-building referred to the earlier stages of development. Yes, it's true that they had no choice but to re-build it. They're not rebuilding it now and the rebuild has nothing to do with the delay.

What they meant was - because this game was a re-build from the start rather than a tweak (which wasn't their choice, as you've said) they lacked the resources to communicate via videos and screenshots. Now this is largely just spin and excuses. However, it does not mean they've indicated they've delayed the game indefinitely because they've decided to re-build it now.
