Official Apology from AC13 officials

Thank. You. So. Much.

If you still think that this company is sincere in its apology, there's a little test that can be carried out: take the questions Varun has posted, and put them up on their designated facebook page. See if they get answered. My bet is that a thousand meaningless (and already answered) questions about the DRS and a non-existant career mode will be answered before anyone even *touches* these things. In their Fake Honest Apology, they even have a little save-our-ass clause regarding the facebook Q&A: "we will answer all other questions as soon as humanly possible."

This game was always an attempt to try and cash in on a license during a time cricket interest in consumer driven economies is at a peak.

They've almost certainly realised that the core cricket audience were not going to buy it once Big Ant cricket started offering a far deeper game, and have had to rethink their entire strategy.

I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually run out of funding, or have to release something that is barely functional just to cash in on whichever mugs buy it. Basically, what's been happening on and off since 1999 :p

Every week, between now and release we will be posting a video answering the top 10 questions of that week and giving you an update on where we are in terms of physically releasing the game.

Can they keep their promise? We've heard it all before with 'weekly podcasts'. If so, then we can expect the first video on this coming Monday.

Wait so they don't have time to put out screenshots but can make weekly videos answering questions?

First video Q&A

Key points:
- Xbox 360 first submission 'today'
- Release date a 'day-to-day' proposition
- PC build going well - hold ups on consoles
- PS3 submission shortly
- Hopefully two weeks then manufacture
- 'polish'
- DRS in a future DLC patch
- 'we've broken the game engine on several occasions'
- 'all the stuff we've wanted to cram into the game is causing problems'

Sounds like they're rushing it to me... but that's totally speculative.

All the stuff from the extensive features list? Batting and bowling? Can't be fielding...

"day-to-day proposition" on release is honest and straight forward at least.

Well 'no chance of making July because we only just submitted on Xbox' would be more so.

Their second guess at their release date is clearly wrong - a PC version at best in July, unless they are continuing to 'polish' that as the basis of a patch for the console versions.

Also the "Hey there wil be any career mode and is there ipl ?" comment on the video just saddens me. Suppose he will need to answer it in the second Q&A as well.

Go date will be August then... Before the 5th test. They'll de-bug the PC version right up until release and there will be a day-one patch for consoles.

"We sat down in 2009 and decided to throw it all out" is seriously disingenuous. Getting a bit fed up hearing that tbh.
"We sat down in 2009 and decided not to pay Codedmasters money for the code to IC10 so we had to start again. Then they sold it to someone else".
Ironically had they bought the IC10 code they could have added stuff like career mode rather than having to get the basics working again, They would have made the release date too.
