Yep, the other irony I pointed out instantly.

He may be the older, less illustrious brother of India’s spin equivalent of Muzumdar in this generation but Jatin Saxena still has a solid domestic record himself. Unlike his more famous sibling, he is more of a batting all-rounder and has a more dynamic game suited to white ball cricket. That doesn’t mean he’s a slouch in the FC department though as ever since the pandemic got under control he has rocked up in the Sri Lankan domestic system out of all places and has been playing for Negombo CC as a number five/six who bowls some overs as the fifth bowler with a productive season last year averaging close to fifty with the bat and thirty with the ball. That he’s still going strong in another domestic system at the age of forty (and has a fifty plus two wickets in his last game ten days ago) is a testament to his skill and passion, one that will be amply rewarded in our own side.

In my side he will be the all-rounder and secondary spin option for now. With him in, we’ve fulfilled our over forty requirement.

Colin de Grandhomme

Colin de Grandhomme had a superb Test career, averaging 38.70 with the bat and 32.95 with the ball. He's also an asset in all formats: his career strike rate of 155.62 is one of the highest marks by any player in Twenty20 cricket. Although he has retired from international cricket, he continues to play domestic cricket around the world in all formats and will currently bat at number seven for my team.
