Most of the time when people post their examples of people quitting against them, it's when they have scored at 10-20 an over for the whole innings, this can only be achieved by playing very unrealistically and I have no sympathy for you if you get quit on if you play this way, and don't feel guilty if I do it to other people.

When you set a target which isn't ridiculous and are bowling to them or you are bowling first and they quit, that's the only sort of quitting I would get annoyed about.
Then they should improve their bowling. I mean all of us got the same game, same bugs, same A.I if we can play like that so others can also play like that. Suppose i am batting first and i play realistically 6 runs per over whats the gurantee other person will play like that? And in real matches also even a batsman like Courtney Walsh won't leave an opportunity to score a run on bad balls.
And please tell us your id so that some of us can save our time since you whin about people playing unrealistically in every other thread.;)

Please open the quitters name thread back up. Burrying the issue is the same as ignoring it which is not what we want. It bothers you that much, don't click the thread.

Last thing we want is for the devs to think its okay if they don't patch this game with any quitter prevention system because nobody minds it anymore.

From the other perspective, labelling others as quitters because they dropped out of a game against you isn't conclusive.

Not when they quit after getting bowled out for under 20, or defending a target like 60 and the oppostition reaches 50-0 in 4 overs. When people quit in any other circumstance I know there's a high chance they didn't quit because they were losing and I don't mention their names.

Overall, you know if you won a game or not, you don't need to worry about getting a W in a column. If you know you won, remember that you are the more honest player.

Its not that simple, its still frustrating to see your efforts go to a waste. A "W" in the game is no real life "W", we play the game just so we can have fun trying to achieve that "W". And if we are robbed of that, its a little satisfying calling them out in the quitters thread.

Params7 added 3 Minutes and 52 Seconds later...

Also, add emosandlmos and chasss123 to the list of losing quitters.

I agree with Params, if we just ignore the quitting issue the developers might think its not a problem and not include one in their next game.

If you want total realism go and play real life cricket my friend. We all play this as cricket fans - every ball we want a wicket or a boundary. Its like saying tv programmes are unrealistic.

Of course they are - who wants to be "entertained" by the mundane and drab everyday stuff we all go through?

What is real is the excitement you get from a run chase or defence in this game. Playing forward defence often gets me caught behind so why bother. Might as well go for the big one (and hope the other guy drops it lol).

Maybe in future for a more "realistic" game we could have the batsman with a first person POV type view where he can see the direction, length and pitch before a shot. Just a thought.

But thisgame is one which has many fans and has this fantastic online mode. Sadly hours of enjoyment are being destroyed by quitters and we all know the difference between a quitter and a genuine network disconnection in most cases.

Quitting problem needs to be solved. Come on guys. Online experiance is a major part of any game. Just look at COD, Halo, Any EA sports game etc. you need to address quitting issue. you need to understand that there are people who play with AI and then there are people who never play with AI and just online. Me for example, have never played one single game with AI. not that anything wrong with it but i find it more challening and fun with other people.

Look i understand that you are making an effort to fix problem in this game and we all thank you for that. but online for most of us is very important. Please dont let us down.

New to this forum... pointed here by gougie after complaining to him about not being able to get a game completed. It was at point where the Top5 runs scorers in T20 (excluding gougie) wouldn't play me or I deemed as quitters.... and I told him as much. He referred me to this site.

Then I come here and see this...

I have created a ranked t20, please try to join, i keep kicking people till i see a name i recognize,

Made me giggle as it was around this day I finally put this game aside after completing 1 game in 2 days, and to then have Hmarka kicked me out of his game a few times, so I was fairly frustrated and disappointed (thinking even the 'top' players won't give me a game). AND I almost always bowling first, my usual experience is people quitting after their (obviously disappointing) innings.... so to date my main experience with this game is 95% bowling 5% batting ... and 5% sending msgs to people asking "Why Quit?".

What was the straw for me was that one guy that did finally finish after 2 days trying to get a full game, it just happened to be the first guy (and only) I've ever bowled out for 0.... so you can imagine I enjoyed my turn to bat (sigh). To date I've only had 3 decent turns batting I think, otherwise it's just chasing 50-60 runs and the guy quits as soon as they realise you aren't gonna get out playing lamo slogs etc.

Anyway hoping to get a few games now I've found this site, and seems to be a good bunch of guys on here who play in the right spirit (and a few palooka's I've seen post, but easily avoided)

Now as for topic, the only thing I feel I can do about quitters is this;

The way I see it, they are all either;
a) not wanting to spend the time to finish a match they know they will lose (mostly),
b) Stat boosters who only seem to want to record their big wins (e.g. one guy I played is in the total runs stats for 20/20 with 1300 runs in 5 matches (at the time)..... when the one he quit on me, I bowled him out for 50ish, he didn't even stick around to bowl a ball at me (and I've seen him mentioned in this forums a few times as a quitter too) :/

Not sure why people go so close to finishing then pull the plug. I mean there isn?t a win/loss stat to worry about (and prefer it that way or it would influence more to quit I?m sure - i.e. don't ever bring in a public win/loss stat... stats should be minimal)

Currently I message every person I play, if I?m gonna spend 30mins or more playing online against someone, it?s a small courtesy, however I?m getting sick of writing ?Why Quit?? or ?What Happened?? etc rather than ?Good Game ;)? msgs. Then the ones who don?t reply get added to my quitters list.

When playing online, I started making a list of players who quit or don't play in spirit of the game. There are alot of quitters, and I'm gonna avoid playing guys who waste my time.... that and you will prob see a lot of same names if you play a bit, so better to weed out the 'losers' before you start a match than to spend an hour bowling at someone just to have them pull the plug after their innings ;)

At the moment I?m running a quitter list of 34, and a ?good guys? list of almost 10 (since I started recording, realistically would prob be double the quitters, maybe 2-3 more good guys - not a good ration)? I?ve even taken to recording the easy beats who completed, so if I run into them again I?ll pick a lower team and try to get a decent game. Not because I?m nice, I do strive to win, more because I?m worried about smashing the good guys who will play it out and driving them out of the online community ? i.e. selfish motivation in the end, I just want to play :p

Finally, forget any patches addressing gameplay imo ... waste of time, gameplay is great (yeah could do with some polish and small graphic bug fixes), but I would rather see any patch focus on the online experience which doesn't require extensive testing or raise balancing issues - e.g leave the edges and how they carry alone! ... they are slightly mistimed shots and usually don't deserve to be out imo.

So with that in mind here are my top list of priorities (suggestions) that would improve my overall satisfaction, address some of the quitters, and also where people do quit, still give the guy that played 'fair' some credit.

1/ Voice support or some ingame communication!!!!!! When you play an online game for an hour or more against one person, would be good to be able to say to the other guy "wait 1 sec while I go to bathroom/kitchen etc". I had one guy quit on me then say he thought I had left..... all I did was run to the toilet for a min in between innings, and he was gone when I got back :/ ?. And would save me some msgs after the game if I could say "good Game' just before it cut out too - just give ability to 'mute' the smacktalkers... or make all voice comm mute from time bowler starts his run up till the ball is dead again (ie. only chat during non-gameplay scenes)

2/ If a person quits, the other person still gets their stats (total wickets, total runs etc)... quitter gets nothing, (I hate the fact that my 5-6 wicket hauls in a lot of matches aren't being recorded because some lamo doesn't like being rolled) - to be honest, I'm a bit unsure of the exact detail, was also thinking maybe stats should apply 100% as it may stop quitters if they know that quitting won't change the fact the got bowled out for 20... but in summary, I'd like to keep my stats when people quit on me - how the finer details are implemented isn't really a concern ;)

3/ Same rules should apply for connection drop-outs,

4/ A percentage played/finished figure next to their name or visible before you start the match,

5/ Change all 'Average/Strike-rate' stats to have a minimum 10 game (roughly) limit before they are calculated... all the stats for these areas are dominated by guys who have played one match, make it as many games as to deter quitters - ie. to get a decent 20 game average batting, would take alot of games to quit to find the good ones... make it too time consuming to 'glitch' the stats

6/ See who is hosting a match before you click on it,

7/ Where you encouter the "Could not Find" msg ingame (the one where no matter what you do you can't play a shot), the ball should be called 'dead' and rebowled. Ie. No runs, no wickets, no 'balls' recorded - real life similarity, lets pretend it was a streaker that caused it ;)

8/ Some graphics/lag bugs?. Gameplay is fine!!!

9/ Be able to view some personal stats (not public to avoid people trying to 'glitch' them) - but to see your own total runs/wickets/strike rates/averages etc wouldn't be a bad thing. Keep the public ones to Top100, but let us all see how we compare personally :)

Apologies for long post, and my PSN = "E-N-I-G-M-A" if anyone wants to add me to play in future (though not much space left on friends list, so msg me if full)

People often quit when they are losing and you are saying that we cant even take their names here? Three people quit on me just now they took their batting and ran away. Whats the use of online play then? Atleast by writing their names in online quitter thread we can save other people's time.
Perhaps reading the first post might help. I have no problem with people naming people who quit on them, I have an issue with the name calling and abuse that the other threads were descending into.

To repeat, you can post the names of people who quit on you, you can even keep an updated list in each post you make of the people who have quit on you, but when you post that, post a screenshot if possible and at the very least detail the match solution.

If someone calls you a quitter, the only thing I want to see is a response to that person who did so that is calm and describes their reason for quitting. From then it is up to individual people whether they believe them or not.

The back and forth flaming over whether someone is a quitter or not is unnecessary, and gets us nowhere. And if you want to abuse quitters, you have to do it elsewhere.

The other threads will not be reopened, and creating new ones will see you with an ignoring moderator instructions infraction.

I have only just began playing online but for the first time i came across someone who packed the offside and did a full out swingers i found it very hard to play any big shots well any decent shots atall really irritating any one have any advise how to play this kinda delivery??

don't waste time to play with gamernik88, he is an online quitter, played till last over attend 2balls after loosing his 5th wicket he quits the game because he has to score 30runs to win the match
absolutely waste of time for me

the best way to play these people to is to wait for when they stray closer and clip them on the leg side, either at mid wicket or fine leg.

If they are consistently very wide, then defend for the first few overs and get your timing down, once you feel confident then start lofting over the offside,

also, the game will let you hit pretty straight to wide balls, so try hitting some straight lofted ones too, usually only mid off is there and its easy to clear him.

Whatever you do, dont drive through the covers, thats what he wants you to do,

One last thing, usually these people have a gap between slip and third man, its easy to pick 1s and 2s there.

If someone is placing all their fielders on offside and less than 2 on leg side, then i will not play with that player as they are not playing in the spirit of the game. i dont know why people like this bother playing as they only play to win. what happend to having fun. i mean tell me seriously, who will remember what stats you had in this game, or any other game. after a year when new game will come you wont even remeber yourself what stats you had. if your states are not honest then how could you justify yourself. i mean no one else cares about your stats are and the only person who does (you) knows that you cheated. Soooo whats the point.:facepalm

Unfortunately alioz, not everyone has such a mature attitude as yourself. All you have to do is read Chunnsters post to see that some people take the rankings way too seriously.

This is why only play with PC members, I wasted way too many hours trusting random people to finish games, let alone play in the spirit.
