New Zealand strike
(Imran Departs)

With Imran and Malik playing their shots, Vettori continued to operate with Chris Martin. Despite going for runs, he was getting some extra lift and nearly had Imran with a Short, quick bouncer. Martin was bowling just short of a length as this was the plan for Imran. Martin bowled the same line and length but Imran picked it up quickly and with him being a good hooker smashed it over for a boundary to move him onto 29. Vettori rushed over to Martin for a quick word. Martin yet again bowled the same ball but this time Imran was in trouble.

This time the ball came to Imran quicker than expected. Imran tried to Hook the ball similar to the previous delivery. However, the ball went straight up into the blue sky. Ross Taylor gathered himself and took the catch. The Partnership of 73 had been broken.

D.Jones: In the air....this should be taken....Good catch. Ross Taylor the man underneath it and takes the catch. Thats a disappointing end for Nazir. He goes for 29, Pakistan are now 73/1 in the 13th Over.

This brought the experienced Younus Khan to the crease. With a duck in his last Innings he would have to play well here to regain some form. He started off in good style adding a boundary to his name of his second ball.

Pakistan :- 84/1 (15)
*Malik 43(47) 4 Fours 1 Six
*Younus 8(6) 1 Four

Last Wicket
Imran c Taylor b Martin 29(37) 3 Fours

C.Martin 7-1-38-1
K.Mills 7-0-43-0
M.Mason 1-0-2-0

Nothing to worry about for Pak... They have to make sure this partnership keeps going in a decent speed and then they can fire up later on...

Nice update Arslaan!

Nazir will be kicking himself. The stage was set for a possible century for him. Pakistan are in no way in trouble. High run rate. Only lost one wicket and another match winner is at the crease.

Just a wicket down... Pakistan have more guns still to come so 300 is in sight...
nice presentation... :clap

Yeah good start by Pakistan, Malik is flying along there. Pakistan should be making a big total now.

Great stuff, as per usual mate

Good start frm Pakistan, Mills not looking in good touch :noway Kiwi do need few more wickets as early as possible to make their way abck again ;) nice presentation Arslaan

Great stuff Arslaan, strong start from Pakistan, but they should keep pressing for runs, I guess Vettori will be looking to Mason to put a halt on the runs to such a speedy start, I am surprised he have not brouight himself on, I guess we will just have to wait and see.

They are still going good. They have a loong way to go yet and really need atleast one more partnership to score big!

Nice work with the presentation! KUTGW!

I think Pakistan have had a good start but I do think that they now need a solid partnership to keep the runs ticking and get a good total. Once again mate quality work, superb graphics and well written.

Good work mate, keep it up!:)

Younus Goes
(Malik reaches Half-Century)

Malik and Younus had a brief chat after the 15th over discussing what needed to be done. The drinks came on as Pakistan were 84/1 after the 15th over. Malik faced Mills in the 16th over. He looked relaxed whilst Younus was looking a bit edgy. Mills and Mason had beaten Younus' bat on numerous occasions. Malik told Younus not to worry and to just rotate the strike.

The Newzealanders were trying their level best in the scorching Sharjah heat. With the pressure building on Younus, Mason bowled a leg-stump delivery. Younus slid towards the off-side and chipped it straight in the air. Younus was just about to walk off before James Marshall somehow dropped the simple. Mason was furious whilst Younus returned back to his crease and grinned at Marshall.

Mills bowled his 9th over, he was aiming at Malik's ribs. However, Malik got inside the line of the ball and glanced it away for his 5th boundary. This also brought up his Half-Century.

S.Manjrekar: Glanced away from Malik that should bit Fine Leg...it does. Thats 50 for Shoaib Malik. Good knock coming off just 51 balls. He has looked in control since ball 1.

Younus' luck ran out soon after the dropped catch by Marshall. Malik drilled the ball to Mid-On who was quite deep. Malik immediately called "No!" however Younus was running towards Malik's end. Malik continuously said "No!" That is when Younus realized he was in trouble. A direct hit Jesse Ryder would get Younus. Ryder attacked the ball and aimed for the Leg Stump. Realizing he could be Run Out, Younus attempted a full length dive. Ryder got the bullseye. Ryder immediately knew he had his man.

Younus didn't look back at Malik. Simon Taufal called for 3rd Umpire Billy Bowden. It did not take long for the decision to come as the red light shone. The crowd immediately became silent as Younus walked back to the pavilion for his 23.
B.Richards: Oh trouble here...Ryder's got to hit. Thats gone I think. Ryder and the rest of the Newzealanders think they have got their man. Simon Taufal has called for the 3rd Umpire. Yes, he's just an inch short. Some brilliant work by Ryder in the field. Younus knows it...Thats the Red Light. Just a bit of confusion and Younus goes. He goes for 23 and Pakistan are now 141/2.

This brought the Captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who was on the back of a 74 in the previous match. Despite Younus' wicket falling, Pakistan look in a comfortable position.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pakistan :- 141/2 (25)
*Malik 83(81) 8 Fours 1 Six
*Misbah 0(2)

Last Wicket
Younus Run Out (Ryder) 23(30) 1 Four

C.Martin 10-1-61-1
K.Mills 9-0-51-0
M.Mason 6-0-26-0

Current Run Rate (5.64) Projected Score: 282

Fantastic work there Arslaan, really looks good my friend. Pakistan have looked very comfortable in my opinion and Malik is looking good. Misbah did well in the previous match but I'm not sure if he can deliver once again.

Looking forward to the next update. :)

i already knew what happened :p. Younis was foolish to get run-out his best oppurtunity to get a high score. Malik is on fire!
