Pakistan in Bangladesh Nov-Dec 2011/2012

Shahid Afridi or Abdul Razzaq can open ??? They both have been doing that job in English County. I would prefer Afridi to open the batting.

Khurram Mazoor is good for first-class only. I like Nasir Jamshed because he's the kind of opener which is required. He got aggression in his shots and also good techniques which lacks in Khurram Manzoor.

Manzoor hasn't had enough Tests (or ODIs) to give up on him. His ODI average (admittedly limited data) is virtually the same as Hafeez's. His FC and List A are both over 40, indicating that he can do better (especially in ODIs). And he's only 25, so hasn't stopped improving yet.

Are you serious that Nasir Jamshed has got a good technique? He's too legish most of the times even chases the balls outside the off stumps to guide towards leg side.He cant play with the straight bat and play across frequently.i dont think that we should waste time on him I would prefer even Farhat over him

Forget FC and List A. It's a low standard cricket imo where Shahzaib Hasan can also score centuries. The requirement for now is a good aggressive opener along with the moderate game of Hafeez who can survive at least 15 overs to give a good start and Nasir Jamshed ain't that bad. He play better shots than Khurram Manzoor. His strike rate his around 100 and average is also better than Khurram Manzoor. Nasir Jamshed is not necessary, I am just saying that he is better than Khurram Manzoor for ODIs at least because I know that Imran Farhat is going to hurt us for next 20 matches :p

Forget FC and List A.

If you forget about domestic, how do you introduce new players to the team? It can only be by who's related to the selector! :yes

I'm not disagreeing with you, in that maybe Jamshed is better than Manzoor. I'm just saying that Manzoor also deserves another go especially in ODI, when the time is right, ie. depending (primarily) on who is in form.

Pakistan squad for Bangladesh tour announced !!! No Awais Zia or Sharjeel Khan ... ODI Squad has been retained while Mohammad Talha is included in Test squad

Mansoor > Jamshed. Jamshed is a primarily an on side player who likes to wack the bowl but has poor technique. His last assignment was against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka where he made two ducks by being beaten up by two seemingly straight deliveries and edging it to slip. Mansoor has done nothing wrong, more of a gritty batsman, and I dont remember why he was dropped in the first place. Should complement Hafeez nicely.

A big NO NO for Afridi or Razzaq to open. We never have decent openers because we keep putting middle order batsmen there. You can get away with it in subcontinent but will get tested in other conditions.

Yeah lets just forget about FC and List A Bring street cricketers in :p

You guys are taking me out of context :p
I just meant to say that the standard of our domestic cricket is very low. The consistent century makers can't handle the pressure of international cricket and I know you guys will agree. Anyway, I just want to see an aggressive opener with the ability to pace the innings along with the good start. I don't like Imran Farhat at all. But he made 2 half centuries so he deserves Bangaldesh tour at least.

You are right but if we won't consider domestic performers then how will we get new players? i mean The player who scores most runs in a season will probably be the best we have

Right, there's no other way to judge the performance but let's take the example.

10 new comers introduced this year and we got 2 potential performers (Asad Shafiq, Junaid Khan). Now, what's the reason of trying tom dick harry and resting the players? Middle order's problem is solved but not our management is not utilizing. Similarly, Junaid Khan's performance in tests makes him prior to Sohail Tanvir and Aizaz Cheema. We just need an opener and stop this system. I mean there's no long term planning for last few years.

I don't have any problem with Khurram Manzoor if he improve his strike rate :thumbs

I can pick in my line up Asad Shafiq atm just as an opener and will bring Junaid in for Cheema and Razzaq for malik the rest of the team is quite Good.I wish riaz comes back because it adds to our options in bowling
