New Zealand in Bangladesh, October 2010/11

Like I said above Bangladesh were very beatable, hence why I think something is going on behind the scenes.

I realize that, and that's why I broke it down. May be you think that, because NZ beat us in NZ. But not in our backyard. You don't realize that, just like NZ team didn't. And they paid for it. You can say w/e you want, Bangladesh troubled every top teams in Bangladesh. Even batting Lords Indians, Oz at their best. The only reason they failed to capitalize on those trouble-making because they spilled it BIG time with bad fielding. I can go by every match and series, where they lost mainly because of bad fielding, if you want me to. And that made us seam "very beatable", but things have changed. You guys dont realize. But you will, soon. We missed killer instinct, I think we got it now.

I know you are not trying to make any excuse, also I never thought you meant match fixing either. I am just giving my thoughts why all of a sudden we managed to sweep the series against a top team, just like you are giving your thoughts on why and how all of a sudden a team like Bangladesh managed to beat a #2 (was) ODI side and dropped them down to #7. You don't have to agree.

A clean sweep by Ban!(4-0)
Congrats and really well played Ban and R.Hossain really bowled very well!:clap

Bangladesh had a camp of 1,5 months from 8am to 4pm. No wonder the basics have been improved.

I see where you're coming from, and that's fine.
Yes Bangladesh have obviously improved, but I still think there's some stuff seriously wrong with NZ cricket, and the systems they have inplace really need to be looked at after this series.

Players like McCullum one day just look to have so much talent, but then he goes and fails five times in a row before repeating that talent, some goes with Ryder, and Taylor is the same to a lesser extent.

Maybe just say to them, everytime you play a stupid shot when it wasn't needed you'll get 50% off your match fee.

Bangladesh have played well throughout the year, but there's no doubt that NZ are sliding in the other direction.

sad that BNG has only got those guys contracted until the world cup.

This is always the problem though, they just can't dream of competing financially with india, england and australia. Even NZ, west indies and south africa has ample money to hire teams of coaches on long term contracts (if not as lucrative as the other nations)

hope they do realise the investment is worth it in the long term. make the team more popular and watchable, see the TV rights increase in value, sell them for more money. Also the world cup should bring in a slab of cash for them in the immediate future.

I met Mahmudullah Riyad today, he was on his way to celebrate with his friends in a restaurant. Got his autograph as well and told him to do well especially against India in the world cup :D

Here is to hoping they renew their contracts for at least 1 or 2 more years after the WC.

You didn't tell him that he's a massive fluke and he should hang his head in shame for celebrating such a fluke? :p

McCullum always does this he only does good when he wants to which is twenty20s. Ryder shouldn't have been a surprise he got no runs he never has away from home, and that was Taylor's first bad series for some time. I just feel so bad for Vettori he just doesn't deserve this at all. Anyone remember the test last year or year before against Bangladesh when he had to bat at 4 to save it for us. If not for him we would've had a test loss as well against them. I just feel how much better he could've been had he played for a half decent side.

On the subject of anything behind the scenes, if so it definitely has to do with McCullum he's a prick, get rid of him. Like the games hes playing with the keeping and not keeping. I heard NZ cricket said something about it which is probably why he started keeping in the last two matches. If they want to start rebuilding they simply have to let go of him, he doesn't really want to be there either he just wants to play IPL.

McCullum's a ****en joke, I'll be pissed off if he makes it into our test side for India as a specialist batsman, I have a feeling he will though.
They should make him go back and play some domestic FC cricket, and prove to us that he's good enough to be there as a specialist batsman.
Vettori as a selector has to have something to do with it, those two have been together for well over five years now, so I really don't see Vettori dropping him.

New Zealand news: NZC to conduct review into Bangladesh debacle | New Zealand Cricket News | Cricinfo.com

Former New Zealand fast bowler, Simon Doull, was scathing in his criticism of the team. Doull said that Vettori, who bears the burden of leading the bowling and being a reliable batsman to go with his captaincy duties, was not getting any help from the other senior members of the team.

"He [Vettori] is under pressure and I'm not sure he's coping with it all that well," Doull told LiveSPORT. "I can't see any answers. We're going into a World Cup in two and a half months and if we think we're going to be anywhere near the top eight we're dreaming at the moment. They could turn it around but it's going to take a miracle."

That sums it up for me. No one backed up Vettori. Ryder was bad, Elliott was bad, McCullum was awful, Watling was rubbish. Don't know why Stewart was even playing, he was terrible. I can only cringe at how NZ are going to do against India. Based on the current form, it is not going to be pretty.

He should be though, his test form has been excellent although he should be batting at 6 and vettori at 7. Dont think he'll do any good coming in at 3 and facing a new ball.
