All i'm saying is that in this whole ball-tampering saga, England have nothing to do with it.

England has everything to do with it. It started in 1992 when the English media couldn't stomach a defeat by Pakistan. They accussed Wasim and Waqar of cheating when they couldn't understand reverse swing.

Then Flintoff learns to reverse the ball from Wasim and England use it to win The Ashes.

When Pakistan starts reversing in the final test, that hypocritical, political, scheming, liar, Duncan Fletcher goes to Hair and asks him to watch out for Pakistan tampering the ball.

Oh well, I actually thought that we might get to talk about the ODI's since this thread re-opened but it seems that i'm wrong.

Although I could prove certain points in your post wrong, I won't, because I want this issue to get out of this thread.

I completely agree with u.Flintoff did the reverse swing in ashes on one side if you r saying that reversing the ball can't happen without tampering the ball then this rule applies on your bowlers also ie Flintoff and Simon Jones.

How many English fans on here actually think that Stuart Broad is as good as what the hype suggests? From what i've seen of him he looks a good bowler, I just hope he can cope with all of the hype and expectation of him.

All I've seen is the odd ball on Sky Sports News, so can't really comment. He does have a pretty high economy rate for FC cricket but then he is only young!

Well, My Team for the 20/Twenty:

Shahid Afridi
Shoaib Malik
Younis Khan
Mohammed Yousuf
Mohammad Hafeez

Same here, I don't know too much about him, but a lot of experts say he is the next big thing so i'm excited about the prospect of having him.

I've seen him a couple of times now, and he's bowled very well. I do hope his talent is allowed to progress carefully rather than being the subject of media hype all the time though.

well he by far the best bowler on display at the 20/20 finals day.

Funniest was his bowling to Irani...he couldn't lay a bat on him..until he nicked it behind.

From what i've seen of him, he bowls quite straight. That already makes him more suited to ODI's than Mahmood (imho).

Akhtar is a demon...he has the potential to destroy England in a way never though possible on helpful English wickets, constantly overcast skies and a vunerable England batting lineup

When he toured here for a a 3-match series in 2003 and he was awful, and as I still don't think he's fully fit, it means he won't be at his 'demonic' best.

I believe this scandal (may we never speak of it again :D) may fuel him to bowl even faster and more cunning than ever before. I believe rushing him will be stupid as the champions trophy nears.

i remember him last tour..

he opened the bowling with Sami..Tresco was belting him for 8-10 per over. Fast thru the air..faster off the bat.

He hasn't had many (any?) games for like 6 months..can't see him being to "demonic".

Did a bit of Archive digging..

tresco 86 off 55 balls ! akhtar and sami going at 8rpo..

Though this was 3 yrs ago at the Oval..Tresco not in best of form atm

Afridi will open or come in at first drop I hope for the Twenty/20 (so long as it happens). Should be pretty exciting.

I pick Pakistan to win because of Englands one day bowling is poor and Pakistan have a strong batting line up on paper who should exploit it.

A little bit of publicity for Planetcricket (second entry down)

Interesting looking at the final averages for the series (here)

Both Cook and Strauss outscored Bell in the end, Harmison was England's best bowler and Hoggy only took 2 wickets more than Saj Mahmood in one match more.
