Its all over.

Pakistan win by 5 wickets!

Afridi's role will not be remembered by scorecard historians but he upped the run rate to the point where Pakistan could not lose.

Well played pakistan, deserved it with some great bowling. Afridis innings was amazing also. Can't belvie inzi ran out hafeez :laugh

From an england point of view Broad and Yardy played brilliantly, and Gough in his second spell bowled some great yorkers.

I think Gough bowled really well..one of my favorite bowlers, he was really unlucky in this match...should be good in odi's.

I'm really dreading the ODI series now; We weren't all that bad today, it's just that Pakistan where good.

Ah well, Tests are what matter and we won that series 2-0. Or 3-0 to be official.

Tests are what may matter to england, but Odi's matter to Pakistan

England might have lost this game and might even lose the ODI series, but I think they are picking the right players (Broad, Yardy, Darymple, Read) ahead of the World Cup next year. Once these players settle into the side, England will start winning matches.

I think Saj must go however. He is too expensive in ODIs, and is too inconsistent. I would back playing someone like James Anderson if fully fit.

Also I think England will perform a whole lot better when Freddie returns as his presence in the team basically gives an extra bowler as well as batsman.

Afridi is the 1 who took the score up..... He played really welll.... Hope that he does gud in the ODI series.....

Perhaps you also missed the statement in the conference yesterday in which Hair stated he may sue written and/or electronic press for defamation.

Inspite of his fighting the press, ICC, etc., I think Hair is done.

The $500,000 payment for Hair's resignation was a practical one. ICC should have made the payment and got Hair out of everybody's hair.

Now Hair will probably end up jobless, with no future in umpiring.

Good win for the Pakistanis. I don't see England putting up that much of a fight in the ODi series. They may win 2 games, but I wouldn't see them trouncing Pakistan in the series.

Agreed can't see the English putting up much of a fight here. Way too inexperienced side to cause any problems right now plus Pakistan have the all round team for ODIs.

Harmison is out of the ODI series.

Mahmood came back well though after Afridi stuck into him 5 from 2 overs, Broad looked good as did Yardy.

In terms of Wednesday...

Maybe Lewis in for Mahmood?

may sound harsh..but Lewis is too slow for international cricket. He won't trouble top batsmen. Pakistan's batsmen wil just smack him into the middle of next week.

I'd like to see a "form" bowler like Kirtley or Tremlett recalled.

Pakistan weaker against those types of bowlers..
