well i think rain is saving us here....they are calling for the heavy covers..don't expect to see any more play

As for England batting, they just lack aggression, and improvisation. They don't seem to be following any sort of plan..I am not convinced that each player knows what his role is within the team.

If you compare that to Pakistan..they have several types of batsmen. Ones that look to bat through the innings, stroke makers and plain old sloggers..even their tail is capable of smashing a 6.

England do have those players, but are not utilising them correctly.

Well at least Sky are showing us that England vs Pakistan World Cup game from 3 years ago; A certain James Anderson announced his emergence there. If only he was fit now.

I think they've pretty much given up on this match..radio commentry has stopped..

even if it stopped raining now you won't get play for over an hour...

Forecast is shocking for the weekend too

Very strange, I'm sitting in my house which is literally a 5 minute walk from the ground in Sophia Gardens and the only rain in the last few hours has been some very brief light showers (hasn't been any rain at all for the last 30 minutes) >_<

It's not like Channel 4, they could abandon their coverage and show something like a black and white war film. It's just a case of digging into the archives and showing something mildly interesting.

The rain may indeed wash away the situation of this match, but it won't wash away the situation of England's team at the moment. A lot of people here have said all they need is a plan to give them some sort of direction, so they could just do that between now and Saturday!

from cricinfo

7.55pmBST And the covers are coming off! The umpires are in the middle, nodding, and the players are on the balcony, shuffling with interest. We'll let you know what's going on as and when

seems the rain has stopped...

time to call on our good friends Mr. duckworth and Lewis..

The required total is 159 from 32 overs

since they chased 145 off 18 a few days ago..i can't see them having any trouble here

thats not how Duckworth & Lewis works...

too wet for play ..Gough fell over..
