Batting responsibly? Were you watching the same guy? He was swinging at everything, at least 20 runs in each innings came from edges. The bad news is that he'll probably be in the team for the Ashes now, which means we're ****ed.

Mate, Read had a bit of luck, everyone is entitled to a bit of luck. GoJo had his luck but then went on to waste it by playing something like a silly sweep off middle! Read has shown he is the better bat at the moment in this one test match, without a shadow of a doubt. One match doesn't make a career, but he has shown enough in these two innings to show he has what it takes to make a quality keeper batsmen.

Hey, yousuf was dropped on 5. Does that make his innings bad?

Agreed. Read needs just two good innings at The Oval and he should be set for Brisbane.

On that note, KP could have been out about 4 times before he got to 100. No one is complaining about the quality of that innings.

A tie really would be something special though; Something similar to Edgebaston 2005 but worse!

If the bounce is as uneven as Gul's bowling suggests it might be, Harmy could have some fun with this pitch. Strauss has to encourage Hoggard and Harmison if we are to win, and Panesar must keep it as tight as he did in the first.

I know it's not easy to win for Pakistan, just need a good good good start, and we are off to win.

This is the time where Pakistan could have done with Afridi lol.

Maybe the batsmen will be able to get things going at good pace. The talent is there. They perhaps do lack a real dasher, but the batsmen do have the talent for it. And Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf are in great form.

It should be a good last day, I think Pakistan need to go for the win and if things get really bad, then play for the draw.

England could possibly roll them all out, and what an effort that would be. You just think it is perhaps more likly for Pakistan to win, since they have the control over a draw on this still pretty good surface. England will need early wickets. The first session will be the most important one. It will set the tone for the day.

Exactly, Read got lucky. He won't get that in the Ashes. If he plays in the Ashes, he will average less than 10 with the bat, he's just not good enough. Let's not forget that Mahmood scored runs against this bowling attack.

No, it means he made one mistake. He was not the one swinging at everything like Read was.
