What the hell does that have to do with anything?!? He was comparing Reads and Jones' batting, I don't know how Akmal's glovework made its way in there. :mad

I was making a joke, calm down!

You must have a poor sense of humour then, because it wasn't funny at all. *confused*

One person stated that they found Jones easy to dismiss, I stated that Akmal finds it easy to drop the ball. At least I found it humerous.

Anyway, if the ball doesn't do anything tomorrow then England are buggered big time.

And back on topic please.
I'll stick a poll on so we can get a spread of opinion on the result tomorrow.

Wait a minute, Read is suddenly the man for the Ashes after two flukey innings? Let's not forget that he was close to being out for a duck in each innings when he almost chopped it onto his stumps.

Pakistan have no chance of winning by the way, England if the bowlers come to the party or a draw.

Pakistan have no chance of winning if they lose Younis Khan, Yousuf and Inzi for not very many. If those three perform they've got every chance.
As for Read I don't think anyone here thinks that one match makes him the best keeper/batsman in the world but to see the keeper playing responsibly and getting crucial runs with the tail is definitely a nice contrast to what we have seen recently from GoJo.
On the theme of almost chopping onto the stumps I couldn't believe how many inside edges there were today. 4 or 5 got out because of them.
Also on another theme Boycott confirmed on the TMS radio wrapup that Hoggy is indeed having knee problems which are keeping him from bowling at his best. Just waiting for that England attack in Brisbane sans Hoggy, SiJo and Freddy!

I voted tie! That would be supercool!

Btw, I was watching some recorded footage of England's inning, and I noticed that Gul was getting some wierd bounce towards the end of the inning. I'm horrified to think what Harmison can do on the fifth day if the bounce is uneven.

It won't matter what they score when Pakistan are 250/0. :D

Yes, I picked up on that after tea. There was some indifference bounce high and low. There were many occasions where Kaneria was getting away with poor deliveries because there was no bounce. I don't know why so many English fans are being so pessimistic. I would rather have 320 runs on the board and bowling on the final day, than be chasing that.

Batting responsibly? Were you watching the same guy? He was swinging at everything, at least 20 runs in each innings came from edges. The bad news is that he'll probably be in the team for the Ashes now, which means we're ****ed.

First of all, his innings weren't flukey, if it wasn't for his fifty England would have no chance.

Secondly, Pakistan have every chance if the pitch stays as placid as it has been for most of this match.

Definitely. If England were chasing I'd be 99% certain of us losing.
Just for interests sake the bookies have it like this:
Eng 6/4 ; Pak 3/1 ; Draw 5/4

I'd consider those draw odds rather stingy. On the other hand ?20 each way on the win looks pretty good.

Better than swinging at everything and missing the ball like GoJo.
I'm not just jumping on a bandwagon here but you seem to be about the only person who thinks Read played poorly.

Everyone knows i'm the biggest GoJo fan on these boards and I still think Read played exceptionally well; His fifty may prove to be match winning.
