They could have arranged a daynighter at Ahmedabad . I don`t think that the dew factor would be high at Ahmedabad (western part of India) especially this match being scheduled in summer .

Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, sadly the toss has been delayed due to damp pitch! The weather is fine and nobody is sure how this happened, Umpire have decided to have another inspection at 9:00 IST (3:30 GMT). yes india won the toss. Good to see india batting first but i think it may not start of well (the pitch) as its a bit damp and it can help the seamers a lot. The low bounce and variable movement should be something to ponder for the indians.

They are saying the pitch has been dried off but I agree with you. There must be still a bit of moisture in the pitch that will hurt the batting a little bit.

Also take note that the match is now only 48 overs per a side, and lunch is only 30 mins long now.

Hopefully India will keep this up. India is batting better than expected by most. Ball is coming onto the bat a little bit and giving India the chance to hit 4's. This match would now be really interesting if India get to 80 in the next 4 overs.
